    The amount of greed I see in this app is sickening. They started adding a price for it even though it was once free. Even when they added a price to use the app I paid only a little, now there is the most horrible biblical greed for money I could see. The App only gives you limited amount of writing on a document. You have to pay for the ability to write on the document. If you don’t pay for a 100$ yearly subscription you will be unable to have an unlimited amount of usage on the document. This is just Corporate greed.

    This app gives me all that I need to help keep my projects, patterns and notes all in one place. I’ve even started scanning my important receipts in as well. This app is just perfect.

    After using this app for about two years and paying for its subscription, I’m finally giving up on it because of the progressive, recurrent rise in its subscription to the degree of 20$. Bye.

    I’ve had notability since I was in college (2010) and have really liked it and have recommended the app to a lot of my friends. Since I have “grandfather” in before they change to subscription method. They now changed the default format to this ugly mustard color to force people to pay the subscription for extra features that we don’t. Very shady, you should stay loyal to your old time costumers instead of trying to pinch every penny out of us.

    I’ve used Notability to take notes for years, my entire undergrad and into my PhD. Great app, not expensive, not complicated. Definitely recommend to all students.

  • YEARS worth of Notes LOST

    I very infrequently write reviews. This situation is intolerable. I just tried to open a note that I wanted to edit. ALL, 100%, the TOTALITY of my notes are GONE. I had been contemplating moving my notes to PDF so they would not be held hostage by Ginger Labs because they were becoming increasingly insistent that their legacy customers “upgrade” to their subscription plan. Now I am absolutely going to another app for my note taking. Ginger Labs has literally left me with nothing to lose. ALL of my notes are already lost!

  • Pretty good other than iCloud

    The app works fine, but the way iCloud sync is implemented ruins the experience. If you ever have less than 10GB of storage left on your device, it will delete all the local copies of your notes and force you to redownload them every single time you open the app, which takes like 10 to 15 minutes. This applies even if the app itself takes only like 1GB, it still offloads at that arbitrary 10GB limit. There is no way to turn this offloading feature off without also turning off iCloud sync.

    Have been using this noting app for well over 8 years. Since the original iPad Pro. Have never lost a single note, which has happened on a number of apps including apples own note taking and freeform apps. Only trust this apps for my all my notes, works, study, and personal journals. Great apple pencil support too.
