MenuBar Weather

Have been using this app since it first released but for some reason the last update from the end of July 2024 made my menu bar icon stay at a loading glass icon and no longer showing the weather even after uninstalling/reinstalling/quitting the app and restarting. Luckily I had a backup app that does the same thing. If anyone is looking for a weather app, check out Sparrow Weather

This is a very nice app for the menu bar using Apple weather. Lightweight, gives you all the information you need. Responsive dev. And it's free! Well done.

Menubar weather is a fantastic little free app that displays the current weather conditions (via Apple Weather) in the menu bar. I find it baffling that Apple doesn't provide this as a native option along side their weather widgets but this is a great solution. The fact that the developer has made this app freely available while also respecting user privacy by not collecting any data is a big plus in my book as well.

Seems simple enough, but my guess is that it is being blocked somehow and cannot retrieve data. It just starts up, says it's downloading weather...never does. Maybe if someone there could tell us where it draws data, we can unblock that particular site/source.

This app has everything I wanted all wrapped up in a clean, light package. It's not a drain on system resources, the developer collects no data from users and puts the current conditions right in the top menu bar. Its convenient and very nice looking. If you do encounter an issue or have feature suggestions, the developer is highly responsive. Thanks again for taking the time to make this.

Love the looks of this app, one suggestion: would it be possible to make clicking in the hourly forecast launch the apple weather app.

Doesn't refresh the weather Doesn't change location automatically when you travel. Don't bother.

I like the idea of an app that displays Apple Weather in the menubar, but this did not work on my M2 Macbook Pro under Ventura. It just displays a window containing “Two seconds...We're fetching your current weather”. Perhaps this is a permissions issue? I hope it will be fixed and if that happens before Weather.app itself adds a native menubar option, I will reconsider the one star rating. (Also, it would be useful if red-buttoning the “Two seconds” dialog also killed the process.)

Great little app for bringing weather data to the Mac's menu bar. Only suggestion would be to have a setting toggle to switch from 24-hour time labels to AM/PM labels.
