Being able to easily scan labels and quickly see if a product is safe for me to eat has been a game changer. I used to cry almost every time I went to the store. I am going on a low FODMAP diet but I didn’t want to pay 8 dollars for the Monash app. I decided to try this because it had many great reviews and nowhere was it mentioned that this requires a subscription. I wish apps would mention things like this before you install them.

Signed up for free trial (did not give card info) and with no warning i was charged $56 and no one is getting back about a refund. This app is not celiac friendly and apparently just out for your money and will get it without you putting in card info

This app blew me away. It is the first app I have ever seen that has not had you enter all of your food you’re eating and then let you figure out what you cannot eat by entering all of your reactions to what you ate. This app has you put in what you know you can’t eat, or want to avoid and then gives you a list of what you can eat and where you can buy it. and then you can add your reactions and compare later. Game changer.

This app was a game changer for me.I sometimes struggle to understand what some ingredients are on food labels and if they are safe for me. This app has helped me gain confidence when eating new foods without fear of allergic reactions.
  • Does not consider cross contamination

I was really excited about Fig. The questionnaire at the beginning made me think I finally had an app that could deal with multiple allergies. I have celiac, which requires strict adherence. That means no cross contamination. I was so excited that the app asked about cross contamination. BUT…the app didn’t do anything with the information about cross contamination. It suggested restaurants and packaged foods that announce they have cross contamination. Absolutely useless app for a Celiac or serious allergy.

I enjoy using Fig as a backup incase I’m not 100% sure if it’s safe for me to consume. They’re always keen to flag any thing that may upset my health! Tons of options to choose from for allergies. I recommend this app to my friends!

I was hoping to go on this app to help me when I grocery shop to use it to safely buy items that have don’t have pears in them because it says you can use for food for allergies I’m deathly allergic to pears and ingredients lists are printed on everything so small and some companies now can get away with not saying pears are in there ingredients by saying natural flavors and juices but I also can’t have artificial pears flavors this is only an app for diet and some allergies not all and that isn’t fair to people with what is I agree a weird allergy but it’s rare and for me life threatening and I don’t want to have to play Russian roulette every time I try something new that doesn’t say it has pears in it specifically I love living and I don’t want to be that person on the 6:00 news because I died due to some sort of food or drink that had pears in it and sadly am I suppose to just starve when I go blind because I won’t know what does or doesn’t have pears in it cause yes I am going blind and was hoping this app would help when I can get my phone to talk to me not trying to be a Karen but there are people out there with food allergies other than peanuts tree nuts and other more common allergies sad but true
