  • Lackluster Deckbuilder

While there are quite a few mechanics, so it’s possible to like, it’s just … well it feels like slop. Even if you ignore the tedious writing and backstory that you click through (you can click pretty quick, but no idea why it’s even there) — the actual game is just … it’s a bit mindless. e.g. you’ll have “chain” which just means have a bunch of cards that say chain and cast then all together. It’s like 1/2 thought out card mechanics. Might be good for a young kid. But there are so many deckbuilders out there I just can’t see what would recommend this one. [note, I just played the arcanist a few times]
  • Great Devs. Great Game

Devs are highly responsive in discord, very helpful, the game respects you, your time and your privacy. It does not collect any personal data, it does not do the gacha bs, each expansion puts a new playstyle into the game. Extremely customizable runs and modifications to challenge yourself or mix and match expansion card draws Highly recommend

Hands down, the best mobile game on the market
  • Excellent mechanics, but needs fix

Thanks for continually working on this game. The only thing that I’d like to see fixed are the icon placements in the UI. I’d love to see some mindfulness of their placement. Currently, icons are hidden by the Dynamic Island, and the rounded corners of the iPhone screen cut off some elements too. Please fix.
  • Simple start. Serious depth. Don’t sleep on this!

Dawncaster starts familiar—and that’s intentional. Early on, it feels like a standard deck builder: pick a class, work with a limited card pool, climb. But once subclasses unlock, the game reveals its real depth. Subclasses don’t just modify a class—they redefine it, turning familiar tools into entirely new playstyles. Expansions take this even further. New cards and tags don’t just add variety; they change how you think about every decision. Old strategies evolve, unexpected synergies emerge, and deckbuilding becomes about creativity instead of optimization. If the first run feels safe, keep going—the depth beneath the surface is exceptional.

  • Sunforge broken/ game freezes

I’m writing this review because the game freezes in Sunforge and I can’t even submit a bug ticket. This happens repeatedly in Rogue/ arrows build. The game is unplayable since the last update.
  • Phenomenal Game

I'll summarize what I think about the game with the fact that I downloaded it about 3 months ago and STILL average about 50 hours of playtime a week. This game has made me not even want to turn on my PC. The discord is very active and fun too.
  • Frustrating!!

I’m one battle in, and I’ve been playing for about 15 minutes. My player has 2 energy, and my attack takes 2 energy. Why would you ever design an opponent this early in the game that evades the first attack EVERY ROUND?? If I get lucky on draws I can do 2 damage every other round… Edit: apparently energy carries over between rounds, so I can save up and crush him
  • Oh boy.

This game is actually pretty great. It’s one of my favorite deck builders; along with games like Slay the Spire or Meteorfall. The replay ability is pretty fantastic because there are so many freaking cards to find and a good amount of characters to play as. You can upgrade your characters/roles and overall it’s a game I would recommend if you’re looking into a good deck-building rogue-lite.
