Eter Radio is an app for listening to Internet radio stations. Eter Radio is available in a universal version for macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and tvOS. Eter Radio uses the publicly available radio-browser.info database, which contains a collection of free and publicly available Internet radio stations. Eter for iOS, iPadOS and macOS offers a hand-crafted list of recommended stations and the ability to search radio-browser.info for other radio stations. To be able to add them to your list, you must unlock the program with a one-time In-App Purchase. (The price in the App Store may vary depending on the country and the local currency rate). Use Eter for free to listen as long as you like to any station you like (in the radio-browser database) on any Apple device, including in your car with CarPlay. Upgrade Eter with a single one-time in-app purchase to: - Save favorite stations so you don’t have to search each time. - Hide the recommended stations & just see your own list. - Set a sleep timer to drift off to calming tunes from anywhere in the world. - Support the continued development of this app.

    Great sanity saver for fly-then-drive travel that makes getting comfy in the rental car that little bit less stressful: save your favorite stations before leaving home, then connect your phone to CarPlay and listen to something familiar while you drive out of O’Hare (or whichever airport)!

    I’ve been getting sick of always feeling like I need to play the perfect song in the car, so I’ve gone “back in time” to radio. This app lets me search for stations, add my own custom stations, change cover art, syncs my Favorites list to my Mac (iCloud sync), and it has CarPlay integration! I also prefer this app over any other radio app because it doesn’t include any in-app ads or audio ads before playing a station. That is, unless of course a station itself plays ads. Hope this app stays updated! It’s great!

    I’ve really enjoyed using the Eter Radio app. There are a few key reasons why: Simplicity: the user interface is pleasant, uncluttered, and easy to navigate. Unlike other streaming music services, I don’t have to think about each and every song I choose - I just pick a station and listen, ad-free! Discovery: it’s easy to find new stations to listen to - there are literally thousands available, and I often discover new songs and artists using Eter. My favorite feature is the Apple Music integration, so I can save the songs I like to my playlists there. Integration: the now-playing screen lets me easily choose my output device, including wired/bluetooth devices, the built-in speaker, and AirPlay speakers on my network. Additionally, the CarPlay functionality works well to keep the music going while I’m on the road. If you’re not yet convinced, just give it a try, it’s free! The one-time premium upgrade is well worth the price, too!

    I like the search function and how easy it is save and arrange (via info editing) the stations I’m most interested in. When I try to delete a station, the Mac desktop version crashes, but otherwise, no problems.

    I'm a big open source fan. And I love VLC media player for many things. But after fighting for an hour trying to get VLC to save my internet radaio station as a favorite, I went in search of other options. Eter radio has been just perfect. Plays internet radio stations, effortlessly. Works perfectly every time, and the UI is designed to Just Work in in a very intuitive way. Huge fan! :)

    Fundamentally, what I love most about this straightforward app is that it lets me listen to familiar stations (yeah, I do mean Chicago NPR and also WXRT) wherever I am, like traveling on business to Winnipeg for example. :)

  • ETER Radio - Needs Genre, collection of stations

    I like this app. It works. It's simple. But it needs more stations and a list of stations by genre to be really effective. It could also be more useful if it were possible to select multiple output streams (such as internal speakers, SONUS 1, SONUS 2, ... (this might not be a limitation of ETER, to be fair). I will change the rating as soon as I see the Genre listing or at least a search by genre (which is tough by itself)

    It seems impossible to remove the unwanted station from favorites. Once added stays there forever.

    While other apps are bogged down with ads and bloat, Eter is a very simple and effective radio station player. iCloud syncing between the various platforms is a welcome plus. This has quickly become my go player for internet radio.
