  • cute but confusing

it’s aesthetically pleasing but honestly a bit confusing to learn to navigate. also i don’t really understand why there’s very often multiple listings for the same book. some with even different/incorrect information such as published dates. which is why i’m giving 3 stars.

The Harry Potter series is everything and more. Reading these books make me feel so nostalgic and is definitely a comfort read for me. They take me back and it’s always so fun to escape into the world of Harry Potter and the adventures within!
  • Poor import from goodreads

During my Goodreads import Fable added 600+ books to my Finished list that are not marked as read on Goodreads and there does not seem to be an easy fix. I can’t be bothered.
  • 1 star until dark mode

It needs dark mode. Add dark mode.
  • Needs Series Compatability

I love this app a ton, but I still have to use goodreads to find the title of the next book in the series because there’s no easy way to look a book up by the series name and once you have like book one pulled up there’s no way to get to a list of all the books.
  • Very pretty

Beautiful but would be much preferable if they fixed the following: 1) You can't specify print, digital, or audiobook. 2) The review process is 5 screens deep and it doesn't display the title that you are reviewing. Please make the title you are reviewing visible from within the review screens. 3) When you change the starting date format when adding read date to a title, it should default to the same on the next screen, where it asks for an end date.

I dunno. Seems to harbor certain types of readers. Not really made for the non-twitter crowd.
  • Great alternative to GoodReads

Keep in mind all the alternatives right now are subscription based but Fable is pretty accessible when you use the free version. Anything is better than using the old and outdated GoodReads. You can easily convert your data from GoodReads to fable so that all your TBR’s and reviews go over!
  • Nonfunctional

Can’t log in or reset password. Gives an error every time. “An internal error has occurred, print and inspect the error details for more information.” They should work these major bugs out before making this available in the App Store.

I was really excited for this app and I love all the tracking features for reading but now they won’t stop pushing their paid membership on me. If I knew I was eventually going to have to pay for my stats I would have never joined. Even Goodreads doesn’t charge.
