Description

Note: this app helps you detect a defect or damaged OLED screen, it cannot repair it. OLED displays have the highest contrast of any display panel. Blacks are pure black because OLED, which stands for Organic Light-Emitting Diodes, can switch off individual pixels. iPhones with OLED screens should be handled with a bit of care to avoid image persistence or screen burn-in, if you treat your new iPhone with attention you will not suffer from this and your device will have a better resale value, see vendor support article HT208191. Use this app to visually check your OLED screen if you have signs of "Image Persistence" or "Burn-In". Read about the best way to take care of it. When you want to buy/sell a (second-hand) iPhone with an OLED display, you can use this app to visually check for damage to the screen. This App does not claim to fix or repair an OLED screen which has Image Persistence, or burn-in. You can also enjoy two demo videos to check out how good looking Dolby Vision and HDR 10 are, on your iPhone OLED display. Recently we have added 4 Dolby Atmos tests for the Spacial Audio on the Air Pods Pro.

  • Misleading name. Does not fix screen burn-in.

It’s partly my fault for not reading to the end of the app description, but I thought this app would help fix my screen burn-in. It only diagnoses it, which I didn’t need because I already know I have this problem. I downloaded this app because it was recommended in a Digital Trends article, and both the article and the use of “doctor” in the app name implied to me that it would fix or attempt to fix screen burn-in. The fact that it doesn’t is hidden in the app description past where you have to click “more” to see it. I’m annoyed I paid for an app I don’t need. I would recommend to the app developers to make the exact purpose of the app clear at the top of the app description.

This is for screen testing not getting rid of burn in. Don’t waste your money.

Where are the demo videos? Update: Videos have been included with the latest update.
  • Didn't help with keyboard burn

The app didn't show my keyboard screen burn in any of its tests, nor did it fix it. But free RGB cycling videos did.
  • Not what I expected

Not what I was looking for, but still useful for other things.
  • Does what it claims. (Dev: bug inside)

This app is a good screen tester. Don’t expect it to balance your checkbook - its a screen tester. It does that fine. Developer: the button for “OLED & App Info” leads to a text display that’s both editable and a user trap. You can’t back out of it, apparently. Requires a force quit if you click anywhere and enter edit mode as the Exit button disappears in edit mode.
  • TOTALLY FROZE MY PHONE

This app doesn’t do much help. It doesn’t help fix or lessen the effects of anything. Just lets you check. Which isn’t helpful. And worse than that, I have a brand new iPhone XS and this app froze it so bad it needed a force restart. I accidentally tapped that “Dolby showcase” junk and my phone completely froze. Wouldn’t play the video, couldn’t close the app, use assistive touch, or even change volume or lock the phone. Do not even touch this app, there’s plenty of other apps that help diagnose and do basic things to help reduce effects of burn in and DON’T have unnecessary “features” that risk breaking your phone.
  • An awesome app to have for OLED displays

If you’re going to buy a phone with an OLED display, then this app is a great diagnostic tool to have when your checking your display for color consistency. The app will display a wide range of colors that makes it very easy to see if your OLED screen is displaying colors properly. Also, I know it was a small thing for me to nit pick about, but thanks so much for removing the uninterruptible music that would play while the app was open. I love being able to play my own music in apps. I’m giving this app the 5 stars that it rightfully deserves. Thanks for listening to feedback and being such an awesome dev! Keep up the good work! 👍
