Wanted a voice navigation for Route 66 but all the English speaking voices are hokey and obnoxious. Not a fan.

I really enjoy this app and it is so helpful. Even the free version helps you find (or in some cases, avoid) some cool places. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see this wonderful road.
  • Disappointed

I have used Shaka guides for most trips. They offer stories, history, background about the places, etc. this is what I expected from this app so I was let down. Is does give routes and shows all the old places. If your going to use it so your own research.

This app is both helpful and not. Once you figure it out the turn by turns are helpful BUT one route includes ALL roads on the historic route and the other is a faster way. So do your homework and know what you want out of the journey. App does crash resulting in shut down of phone and restart. Not all points of interest are included but they couldn’t be as there are too many. Enjoy the ride.

Travelled historic Route 66 solo and was very useful to have this app hooked up for directions and CarPlay, it gives a little visual notification when passing interesting points which I found helpful

Was hesitant to invest $39 after reading reviews expressed in You Tube videos during my research. At the last moment i decided to purchase, since my EZ 66 book cost $34 and this was like a price of a good book. So grateful we did! The app was so helpful to keep us on Route 66. My only concern was as we progressed along each state. I found each day I open the app and select the next destination the location defaulted to the beginning. So if in New Mexico the App would open in destination In Illinois. So I had to swipe through each state and dozens of cities/towns to arrive at current location! Will and have recommended this App to future Route 66 travelers! Worth the investment!!
  • Navigation inaccurate

The app’s navigation is inaccurate. Twice it took us to completely wrong places (Funk’s Grove Maple Sirop and McCook Bohemian Restaurant & Lounge). We used Google maps the rest of the trip. Waste of $20.

I love this app! Not only will it keep you on the Route, it points out so many POI along the way. I’ve used it for Route 66 trips since 2023 and I always will! ❤️

I hate these creepy robot voices. Who wants a “whisper” option??

We just completed our second part of the Route. We did IL to KS two years ago and this time visited a couple things in IL we couldn’t get to last time and then went straight to Kansas to do the Kansas to Santa Fe, NM section. The app has improved greatly in the two years. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing the maps to download on your phone since there are big sections you will have no cell signal to help your navigation. We downloaded the app on both of our phones and used one phone for the navigation and the other to look up attractions that were coming up so we could plan stops we wanted to make. It also gives you a pop up of the attractions on the navigation and what side of the road it will be on. Only thing we wished was that we could do was zoom out of the map. Also would be helpful for more places to have their hours. American Giants museum was closed and not on the app sadly. We also didn’t get to visit the Conoco Station in Shamrock, TX because they were closed and no hours posted. Not the app’s fault but more the keepers of the locations to notify.
