  • Nice game, but a few problems

This game is really creative and opens up to a world of endless possibilities, but I've noticed a problem. One day, everything works perfectly. But the next day, the main menu is broken. Can you please fix that?
  • A Better Sim City than Sim City

UPDATE (1.12.19): I've played this game for a while now and have found it to be challenging. Here's what you need to do: Go to YouTube, search for "PinStar" - look at his playlists and go to "Popular Series" - then watch "Transport Fever - Strategy & Tactics ("Transport Fever Strategy & Tactics #1: 1850's Hard Mode (Penny Pincher)" - THIS will make the game a joy to play! ***** Original review follows ***** I'm not experiencing any of the issues reported in other reviews and I'm playing on a 5k iMac with macOS Mojave. This is the Sim City I always wanted Sim City to be: allowing me to maganage a different aspect of things (not managing an entire city, but one corporate aspect). The graphics are stunning, the User Interface is great, and the game-play is wonderful. More campaigns would be nice, but the "free play" is great also. Like Sim City you also can set the speed of play from "normal" to "faster", to "fastest" and even pause the game. great for either time when you want a leisurely multi-tasking experience or a break-neck pace to get things done NOW! Very nicely done, very enjoyable. I have not experienced ant glitches or negative issues thus far. And thank goodness for a single-player offline entertainment. So tired of multi-player fair requiring always-on Internet connections and things. Plop this onto your laptop and while away those long waits at the airport, or whatever. And the price is right, too. Thank you for not GOUGING me for this. All in all, three thumbs up from me.

Different from most of the reviews, I usually have enjoyed this game. However, I found a few problems in this game. Sometimes ports are perceived as truck stations, and I could not make a ship route with the port. And especially this game shows the warning from the saw mills too much. Different kinds of factories are not sensitive to the level of mis-matching demand and supply, but I think the sensitivity of saw mills might be far higher than others. Moreover, in campaigns, a few of quests could not be satisfied with whatever ways. They were not matched the description of the quests in the game, and most of advices in some blogs about this game were not helpful because some details in the storylines are different.

This is a great game, with beautiful graphics and challenging gameplay. The current updates are a welcome addition. Seriously needs an undo/redo feature. Best would be unlimited or at least multiple levels of undo/redo. But for sure there ought to at least be an undo button. The most annoying feature is a tendency for the AI to place raw material extraction sites and manufacturing facilities at opposite ends of the map, when in reality a processing plant would be located near a raw materials site in order to minimize shipping costs. I understand that tricky logistics make the game more challenging, But the game is plenty challenging enough without introducing unrealistic elements. The more time I spend with the game, the more of a drag it is to have to transport raw materials all over the map multiple times to get finished goods to market. The ability to add a user-created processing plant anywhere on the map would be a reasonable alternative, the way that bus and train stations can be added now.

The graphics are buggy and really weird, and the game crashes constantly. It is not playable at this point.
  • Simulation game - enjoy it more than Sims/SimCity

Spending much more time playing this game than I assumed I would when purchasing. Rather addicting. Amazing graphics. My older 17” MacBook Pro struggles a bit in the graphics department but I’ve learned how to maximize performance: quit all other app’s, turn off fancy settings, keep amount of pop-up windows at a minimum, turn off Income and Expense notifications, zoom-in to specific areas to maximize game clock, etc. I learned the hard-way to keep saving the current game if all is going well. Early on I would have some freeze-ups that I had to force-quit. After learning the above-mentioned tricks I haven’t had a freezeup at all. There is an excellent game Wiki available so after doing some Campaigns, go back and get a better understanding of what all is necessary to successfully gain steady income and have everything work as desired. Some campaigns I had to just start over because my decisions were just making things worse, and after starting the mission over again I was able to complete them successfully. My only complaint is that the Steam version appears to have more updates available then this AppStore version. It makes things confusing and the game doesn’t appear to check for updates.

I have tried many times to get this game to work, and simply cannot do it. Can i trade this version in for the PC version? Perhaps it will work there.

Four days on and finding it hard to tear myself away from this very good game. Still working my way through the missions, so have not tried the open ended game but I am looking forward to it. I have to use the lowest graphics setting to keep it from crashing on my late 2012 Mac Pro; otherwise no problems.
