  • James from The Freshman

    By yourmomsgenes
Hi! I’m an aspiring writer and I loves games like Choices and Episode. However, in the past, when I’d play Choices and read “The Freshman”, I picked the love interest James. He resembles Micheal B. Jordan a lot physically and I’m wondering why is it y’all changed his look. I stopped playing because of it.

This game is a very good I love the way you can pick your love interest
  • why did u make it 17+ kinda offensive ngl

i love choices bc of the high quality art, the loveable characters, interesting plot, and funny, realistic dialogue. I noticed that it has been getting slightly steamy but to each their own dude; big ups for still giving out the content i dig as well as talking about social issues and stuff. i had no qualms, i respect the hustle for gems and they’ve actually made it easier to get more gems which is dope bc you can tell they’re not money hungry or they’d be putting out short, low quality content that depends a lot on gems (unless we’re talking about my two first loves which uh— 😳ain’t my choices) HOWEVER now it’s 17+ and I find that, as a 17 y/o with un updated age restrictions on my phone, pretty dang rude. there were already warnings on stories but ig it makes sense since there were still steamy scenes in the unlabeled ones that were accesible to younger kids. okay, maybe it does make sense. but anyway, I’m bummed. I love choices because it was so different and above the other apps like it. it wasn’t afraid to get real and the authors and artists (not to mention the soundtracks! and programming!) are all great. however, i feel like it might’ve been starting to drift into the generic app type, which is shown in its advertising which in no way encompasses what I believe choices really is. choices is a great platform that shows how storytelling (with characters of diverse backgrounds that help connect to different people) can raise awareness for issues such as climate change, police corruption, casual sexism, and more. 5 stars for content, 1 star for the trend that’s starting to show, 0 stars for advertising. embrace ur truth, choices, we know ur not shallow like ur ads suggest 🥲😭🤧 LOVE U CHOICES MAYBE HIRE ME IN THE FUTURE I LOVE TO WRITE DESPITE MY BAD CASUAL TEXTING STYLE (not like anyone’s reading this but—)
  • Like it but..

I really like playing the game. It’s fun and gets you hooked. However, diamonds are ridiculous. The cost of diamonds per story is insane. I pick and choose which books I like best and use diamonds on those and collect diamonds from the other ones. Also have the vip subscription. I also dislike the main characters face choices in most of the books. Why can’t we have a decent face and hair to choose from. I’d even spend some diamonds to pick a different face because I can’t stand most of them.

  • Customer Service Is Very Dismissive

To start off, I loved the idea of playing a game that is affected by the choices you make which is why I downloaded the app. I fell in love with the book The Elementalists and wanted to play it, but the diamonds are ridiculous. I understand that you are a company and need to make money but you can’t have a game where it essentially forces players to pay using real money to enjoy the game. Instead of having some of the choices requiring diamonds have diamonds be used for clothes and hair for your character. Now onto the main complaint. Since the diamond choices are very expensive and we don’t get a lot of free diamonds, I chose to play through other books in order to get diamonds and complete the reward goals. One of the reward goals states “finish books and get rewarded 15 diamonds”. It does not state anything specific other than you will be rewarded 15 diamonds for completed books. I decided to read through some of the side books to get the diamonds from completing the chapters and then the book. Since the side books are only 2 chapters long I thought great I’ll be able to finish them and get 15 diamonds per completed side book. Unfortunately this is not the case, apparently side books do not count as a book completed for the reward goal. Also the reward is a one time reward goal, only being rewarded once when you complete a book. This doesn’t not make any sense since the My Books tab of the app shows which books you have completed and showed the side books as books completed. The reward goal also says books not book, which would imply that you will receive 15 diamonds per completed book. I filed a customer service request for the diamonds that I should have been rewarded and explained the situation. The customer service person, Chastin, told me that the reward goal is a one time reward only being rewarded for 1 completed book and not per completed book. They also told me side books do not count towards that reward goal. I then showed them pictures and told them that the app states otherwise, that the app does show the side books that I completed are part of the books I did complete and the reward goal states books and not book. Chastin continued to be very dismissive of the situation saying they informed the team but could not compensate me for the diamonds that I was supposed to be rewarded. They also admit to knowing that there is nothing that states that side books do not count towards the reward goal and the reward goal says “finish books” and not “finish a book”. Finally Chastin just dismisses my complaint and says that they can’t continue assisting me. Again I know you are a company and you need to make money but this not how you should go about it. You shouldn’t make a game that is free to download but then in order to enjoy the game you need to spend real money. You shouldn’t treat your players with disrespect and dismiss their complaints. After Chastin dismissed my complaint it felt like you just view your players as cash cows to exploit. It no wonder many players cheat or hack the game to get more diamonds and keys. If you do not believe me just check YouTube and watch your books that were completed by players who chose all the diamond choices. I’m doubtful those players actually paid real money since each book has about 12-20 chapters and each chapter has 3-5 diamond choices and those choices are 10-30 diamonds each. For them to do that they would have had to spend $100USD for 1500 diamonds per book and there are 49 books which would mean they would have spent about $4900USD. Please fix your diamond aspect of the game and allow players to enjoy the game without having to cheat or go bankrupt.
  • I love it man!

I don’t know where to start! I love the stories! They keep you hooked! Sometimes I can’t put it down because it’s so addicting. On the other hand, I am asking you...PLEASE 👏🏼CUT 👏🏼BACK 👏🏼ON 👏🏼THE 👏🏼DIAMONDS! It costs too much! At least make the exclusive scenes cost about 3 or 5 diamonds 💎 so it can make my life and other lives easier. The cost of the diamonds are the EXACT reason why I left Episode. And trust me, I don’t want to leave. It’s a really good game but if there’s no improvement, you might not just lose one fan. I’m not saying this out of hate or spitefulness, I’m saying this out of the bottom of my heart ❤️

There’s nothing to say besides that this is wayy better than episode and any game I’ve ever played.
