  • App doesn't sink well with Apple Watch

App is usually 1,000-1,500 steps off from what my Apple watch is reading. So I'm constantly trying to get even more steps in to meet by StepBet goal. Wish it synced better.

In what world does money expire? In StepBet! They will take your winnings if you don’t transfer them to a PayPal account within an amount of time they designate. You will go around and around with app support to get payout and you will get a run around! You need a “selfie holding a piece of paper with the word STEPS. You can also send a picture of your government-issued photo ID if you would prefer. We just need to see your name and photo.” Find another app!
  • Don’t expect to be paid

It is a cool idea. However don’t expect to be paid money. I’ve competed in 6 comps with zero profit. In theory money should have been split but StepBet takes there percentage first which always ends up being 100%. When I finally decided this is a scam I requested my cash out and they took two weeks to release money. They will take your money within seconds and drag out paying you to collect as much interest from your money as possible.
  • Steps must be Synced manually unlike most applications

Steps must be synced manually weekly within 24 hours to count towards goals. The is no active sync like other apps.
  • Something wrong with the payout system

I’m using this app for years. The payout system got horribly worse recently, and there is no explanation whatsoever.
  • I enjoy the concept but

You don’t actually earn money from what I’ve seen in the app, you just “bet” money on a “game” that’s actually just a cyber event that has a entry fee which you get back afterwards. Sometimes the people who set up said events offer prizes which is probably the only actual winnable prize. Again, you bet your money which is generally $40, once the event is over the pot is split between all the players which always ends up being the money you put in as the entry fee. So you don’t win anything you just get your money back. I believe unless someone drops out of the event you won’t get more than you bet.
  • Pop Ups

I have been playing for many years and didn’t intend to stop, but the pop ups every time I open the app are annoying enough that I think it’s time to retire this app. Payouts have been decreasing (congrats to those meeting goals) and I don’t need to be assaulted with extra, non-member games when I log on. Can’t you at least provide an opt out?
  • Inaccuracy with steps

I love this app. I think it’s a great concept. But the inaccuracy is driving me insane. I have 9k steps on apple health but the app is reading 5k.
  • Needs Oura Integration

I used to love StepBet and found it a great way to stay motivated. But after switching from an Apple Watch to an Oura Ring, I was extremely disappointed to learn there’s no Oura integration. While I understand Apple doesn’t allow third-party apps to pull HealthKit data from other devices, StepBet could easily solve this by integrating directly with Oura’s API. Until that happens, I’ve had to cancel my membership. Hoping they expand their compatibility soon - would love to return.
