Recently before the update, you could send up to 30 seconds of a video clip. Now With The New Update, the Duration Has Been Reduced To 10 Seconds. This Is No Surprise As Discord will try every measure in the book to get users to buy Nitro, which is money some people do not have or refuse to pay. For Example, some emojis are locked for Nitro Users Only, as well as saving gifs. It sounds like Discord is getting greedier by the year. The fact they put a price tag on an essential tool that you can do exactly on iMessage for free is beyond me. Nobody should have to spend their hard earned money on a subscription that is pointless. Discord is A Great Concept, however the idea of monetization for features you can do for free is not going to work out for many of users. This app is just like the rest, Forces Users to Buy Subscription By Any Means Necessary. Now, I don’t usually criticize apps because it is not within me to do so, however this app is headed in the wrong direction in terms of monetization and limitation.

I grow tired of going to my server on this app and it pops me out of that server into a random server. I tap back into my server and it’s all black making me have to close out of the app constantly just for Discord to do it again sometime later. I thought leaving the other server would stop this glitch, but no, it’ll just pick a new server to shove me into. I grow tired of the desktop version too which goes black for no reason other than to be incredibly frustrating.

Hello, Discord I’ve been using Discord for about 4 weeks to communicate with my friends and I recently tried to log back into my account and it takes forever, like 30 minutes or even longer if I waited. I think it could be bugged since it takes that much time to load and it didn’t even load. Please, fix this or make it less time to load or something! Thank you, for taking the time to read this. Otherwise, this app is good.

almost everything on discord requires nitro
  • Image transparency no longer works as of recent updates (my patience with this app is being tested)

As an artist, I like to use Discord as my main messaging platform for both friends and clients due to its convenience and widespread usage. However, recent updates have made this difficult for two glaringly apparent reasons. I’m not certain when exactly this began, but a recent update somehow “broke” image uploads for mobile users — PNGs and other static images that should be high quality and transparent are now given white backgrounds and visible compression artifacts. This is not an issue when sending comedic images, but it absolutely is when sending artwork to my clients. I’ve had to upload them elsewhere and link to them to preserve their intended quality, which is inconvenient and infuriating. A chat platform that I once counted on for keeping my images intact has somehow degraded to the likes of social media platforms I’ve abandoned partially due to similar reasons; I should not have to upload my art elsewhere if Discord is able to handle uploading the same images from desktop without running into compression/transparency issues. I’ve used this app for nearly a decade now. I have sung its praises endlessly. I have paid for a full Discord Nitro subscription for several years without interruption. However, I cannot tolerate the half-baked, feature-breaking updates that have been pushed out more frequently over the years, even ruining the user experience for actual customers. If it continues to destroy itself in this way, I will be able to say I no longer recommend it. For now, I will just say it is getting harder to support the app’s development.
