    I stopped using the app last year and redownloaded it a year later. It had significantly gotten worse. There is a large number of fake profiles. Previously you wouldn’t be able to put pictures without a face in them. I have reported a lot in the few days i have been using the app. Additionally, filters don’t work. The app is very glitchy. I don’t want my profile visible to every man in North America. There is also the issue of not being able to actually view profiles seamlessly. At times profiles won’t open when you click on them. And to go through your list you have to open and close each profile individually. Overall, definitely wouldn’t be renewing my subscription. Yes I paid for the subpar experience.

    I saw Salams on TikTok and was interested in learning more about it. After going online and learning more I decided to download it and make an account. I have never heard of Salams nor have I ever made an account prior to this. After entering in my information and phone number I got an email saying I was banned. I was confused as to how I could’ve gotten banned before even making a profile or uploading a picture of myself. I read the email and it stated that I was banned for the follow reason, “Content detected using automated tools.” I’m not sure what AI could have detected from me as the only thing I ever put in was my phone number and I’ve never made a profile before. I promptly appealed and gave the same reasons as above stating that there couldn’t have been a reason for getting banned since I’ve never made an account. I was expecting the appeal to be overturned due to an AI mistake, but instead, I received an email stating that my account will remain banned and the decision is final. Again, I’ve never made an account before and I didn’t even know about the app until just before I downloaded it a few days ago. For anyone considering downloading this app, just be aware that you may get banned before completing your account or doing anything wrong. And if you do get banned like me, you will not speak to a human and instead will get an automated email, most likely from AI similar to how AI banned me without giving me a reason.

  • Impossible to Find Friends After Update

    This app has gone incredibly downhill. It used to be so easy to find and make new friends when the dating feature was separate. Now the profiles are all mixed up, the features don’t work, and I’m not even sure more people realize their dating profiles are viewable on the friends side. Definitely not worth the money or time anymore, a huge loss.

    The “Delete” button doesn’t actually work! When I contacted them for this issue, they want my SSN, birthday of date, my home address, my credit card information, my ex wife name, my dad name, the person I matched with so they can proceed with deleting my profile although I didn’t ask them to do it on my behalf. When you try to escalate, they just ignore you with more personal information request and demand. Update Nov 2025: they fixed it and now you can delete it yourself.

    App is now used to collect data on Muslims, and is no longer owned by Muslims. Certain country in the Middle East bought the app for data collection, so the app is no longer halal for use.

    I have the radius for people I wan to meet set at 40 miles. But they only put people who are over 200 miles away from me on my feed. I don’t want to meet people so far away that I can’t meet them for coffee. Also I don’t want to have to move someone to where I live or move to where they are.
