  • Superb Sound

I love this streaming service. The sound quality is amazing, and the music selection is fairly complete. One star off only because the sleep timer is either buried or missing completely.
  • It’s about the music.

I can’t speak to the differences between Qobuz and its most direct competitor, Tidal, but compared to all other streaming services, the audio quality from Qobuz leaves all others in its dust (and I am paying no more than I did with my last streaming provider, Spotify). I also appreciate that there’s no service bloat; no podcasts, no audiobooks, etc., just tunes. A cool feature is that users can search and sort by record label. The UI is fine (nothing exceptional), but because the music sounds so good, I have zero need for improvements. Qobuz: keep the UX consistent, the subscription fairly priced, and the audio quality outstanding, and we’ll have a nice, long relationship. The one thing I do need to mention is that the hardware and software (outside of Qobuz) through which users listen needs to be capable of playing “hi res” audio. If you’re not set up to do that, then Qobuz’ quality will likely not be rendered on your gear.
  • Not perfect, not bad.

I can live with change, but there’s one persistent issue that is annoying and a dealbreaker. Download speeds are sluggish and unreliable it seems. I can’t listen to music via airplay while downloading music because it constantly interrupts the stream. You fix that and I got a lot less to complain. Currently on trial and unsure if I wanna continue. Fix the downloads and that fixes constant streaming interruptions. Thanks.
  • Does not have all music you’ll want

I purchased a subscription over a year ago. My account suddenly disappeared but they kept charging my card for over a year, with no way to cancel, no invoices and no account information. Even when I changed my debit card info they were still able to keep charging me. Every time I tried to reach out to customer service I wasn’t able to get through. Finally when they answered my email the said their hands were tied. If I could give zero stars I would!

The app crashes after around 45 seconds after I play the first song. Every single time. You have to clear the cache everytime you adjust a playlist or it plays it without the adjustments. As a playlist person that is *very* irritating. Otherwise, I enjoy the selection. They typically have almost everything I’m looking for. The interface is nice and user friendly.
  • Does not connect

Love the content but new “Connect” update does not connect right away to my Naim uniti. I have to keep changing to my phone or Google cast as a source several times and then hit qobuz Connect to get it to connect.
  • FINALLY can play in HiRes to my home Hi-Fi streamer!

Thank you for adding Qobuz Connect! Now I can finally play Qobuz in HiRes on the Marantz streamers in my home Hi-Fi systems. I have been waiting six years for this. Almost two years ago I grew sick of waiting and cancelled my subscription. I have now renewed it. So far, Connect is working well except for a couple minor glitches in the stream. Glad to be able to enjoy Qobuz’s music and information content again. I will update my review later after more experience with the new version of the app. In the meantime, here’s my old review explaining the problem before Qobuz Connect was added: OLD REVIEW: After more than four years as a Qobuz subscriber, I’m regretfully on the verge of giving up on it. The only reason is that there is still no good, simple, reliable way to get Qobuz to play in HiRes on my home Hi-Fi system music streamer. By HiRes I mean sound quality higher than the CD-quality that is the maximum resolution over Apple AirPlay. My main streamer is a Marantz piece that I really like except that its HEOS platform does not support Qobuz. As a workaround, I used (or tried to use) a third party app that (allegedly) connects to UPnP devices. It rarely ever worked right, and it now crashes constantly. I have considered buying a different streamer, but reviews of ones I have considered indicate their control software has similar problems, some especially with Qobuz. I wish Qobuz would either update their own app to be able to stream HiRes to all UPnP devices or partner with Denon/Marantz to get Qobuz on the HEOS platform. I have been waiting over four years for one of those things to happen. I love Qobuz’s content and organization, but I’m sick of messing with trying to get it to play in HiRes to my system—very frustrating when I just want to listen to music with good sound quality. I have broken down and tried a subscription to Amazon Music HD—so far, I don’t like its content and interface as much as Qobuz’s, but at least I can get it to play on my system in HD without hassle. It may need to become my replacement subscription if Qobuz doesn’t get its act together very soon.

I just sighed up for a subscription and all the app does is play samples not whole songs very frustrating especially since I’m paying for this please fix
  • Garbage service

The entire Qobuz service is garbage. You can’t download a full album with embedded album art without using their “downloader app”, you have to download each track one-by-one. Then, of course, the “downloader app” has tons of embedded user tracking and analytics. And that’s after you’ve already paid a premium price for your music. Steer clear and use bandcamp instead.
