  • Map Routes need updating

Great app aside from some of the map routes were way off and it could use more information for routing bigger rigs, like mountainous narrow roads with pin curves was not the most relaxing route.

We have used this app for 2 years and it used to work great. We did a trip this month and it was giving a notification to continue on the same road for 149 miles. It would repeat this every 3 miles! We turned it off and used Google maps with2 different phones with no problems. I added a new route to get home, same issue!

I used to consider this one of my favorite apps, but it has declined dramatically over the years. The developers no longer seem to prioritize user experience, and the shift toward aggressive monetization has made the app frustrating to use. Most concerning is the way the app effectively holds your own data hostage. Trips I created years ago are now locked and inaccessible unless I upgrade my subscription. The app even forces you to delete your old trips just to create new ones unless, of course, you pay. This is an unacceptable approach to user data and a clear sign that revenue has taken priority over trust. I don’t mind paying for good software, but this app paywalls nearly everything. Even on a paid tier, you’re pushed to pay more. Ever since the move to a subscription model, the overall experience has continued to worsen. I will not be renewing my subscription, and I’ve already switched to a different service. I strongly recommend other users do the same until the developers change direction.

Although we only travel once or twice a year but liked this app best of all we tried. (used it for four years). Today we began planning our annual trip and saw promos for Roadtrippers Plus FREE TRIAL. Since we are not frequent fliers, we wanted the free trial, however we spent the next 20-30 minutes searching their FAQ, app, the website and even coupon sites for a link or code!?! NO GO!! Must be the bait they put out to get you to their site and hope you’ll give up and pay the $30 for a year. Thanks a lot Roadtrippers!!! ☹️👎😩
  • NO ACCESS TO MY 1 TRIP PLAN WITH BASIC MEMEBERSHIP

I only wanted to plan 1 trip so I figured the basic membership was worth the assistance in finding cool places to stop along the way. When I logged in a week later to really start fine tuning my plan I had NO ACCESS to the trip plan I started. WHAT THE HECK DID I PAY $35.99 for???? No meaningful response from customer service. Really disappointing!
  • Great app, but…

This app is wonderful for a lot of reasons, I just wish there were more filters to narrow down searches when you are looking for specific things. Other than that, it is really cool and I highly recommend it.

I have been using the Roadtrippers App for a year now. We have utilized the app on 12 trips from Texas to both the west and east coasts. I enjoy the search functions and map layers. We use BLM and Forrest Service much of the time. The dispersed camping searches and map layers helped. However as a Navigation app, Roadtrippers is severely lacking. The loss of map settings each time you start a new segment of a trip is frustrating. You have to back out of 4 windows to reactivate the settings. The routing choices are abysmal and trying to modify a route is not intuitive and is difficult. Trip planning tools are very effective but when it is time to navigate, the planning is all trashed and Roadtrippers throws all of your planning out. The volume of the app is too low. Despite traffic being selected, it does not work, (a freeway closure and no warning or routing options). This is a cumbersome app. These are just a few of the items I have seen. To PAY a hefty subscription each year and not be able to drive and navigate in a manner that does not have me backtracking, second guessing , running other navigation apps to vet Roadtrippers or trying to press a touch screen over and over again while driving is not very good. I love planning but do not enjoy planning and having all my plans being thrown out.
