  • A 0 star rating is fitting. Ring is trash!

By Common sense is null and void.
Update as of 11/27/2025: When trying to access live view, it says event ended in the middle of using the camera. Ring really needs to fix this update. Update as of 11/15/2025: One of the main security cameras in the front yard ran an update while I was in the middle of using it to talk to someone that was damaging the front entryway gate. Ring developers really need to do better with alerting the user that an update needs to be done. I am not getting any notifications when devices need to be updated. Update as of 10/20/2025: I have been trying for the past 23 minutes to access my cameras and event history. The system keeps saying it requires an internet connection. It is connected and there is no issue with the internet. I have checked and double checked. I reboot my phone. I even rebooted the internet router. There is something very glitchy going on with the Ring app with it saying that it needs an internet connection. All of my other devices are connected to the internet. Update as of 10/09/2025: I do not want to share my videos via search party. This needs to be optional, not mandatory. Please listen to your customers. Update as of 09/19/2025: The developer needs to ensure they test these updates thoroughly. This update messed up the mode settings as I have 11 security cameras, 5 of which I keep on 24-7. So when the system is in home/armed mode all 11 cameras are supposed to come on. Not tonight after doing the update. I had to go to all 6 cameras and turn them on. Other than that I am still periodically getting a grey screen in live view. I don’t want to be on the phone with support for hours trying to troubleshoot, so I’ll deal with it for the time being. Update as of 06/18/2025: I am still getting the grey screen during live view, which makes it hard to see who’s in my yard and what exactly is going on. Update as of 06/05/2025: Ring sent an email stating that I’d be billed for $106.99 a prorated amount for the year. I called customer service only to find that they also billed $96.99 that they didn’t send an email about. That’s deceptive billing! Ring should have worked all of this out before all of these updates, drastic changes and doubling the billing. I am filing an attorney general complaint as a start. Update as of 06/02/25: The live views go grey at times, which is terribly inconvenient when you’re trying to see what someone is doing in your yard. Update as of 05/16/25: I will only request U.S. based Ring Representatives. The foreign representatives don’t adhere to the same policies. I have several Ring spotlight cams and they’re all under warranty. Why would I waste my breath and hold time because the foreign representatives want to cut corners and don’t want to do warranty exchanges. Upon the 3rd call and a request for a U.S. based representative, she got me straightened out. She put in the warranty exchange while the foreign based representative said Ring changed their policies and I would be stuck with a defective product. Bring the jobs be back to the U.S. This is another reason I will always request a U.S. based representative only. It’s actually the 2nd time something like this has happened. Updated as of 05/09/24: Kill the stupid posts asking about nail salons!!!!!! No one wants to see that or the stupid social media-related posts!!!!! We couldn’t post about two guys casing houses with several videos of them driving around shining a spotlight into everyone’s yards and one guy was walking on foot talking to the guy driving after 3am. Ring declined it, but you allow the stupidity of nail and hair salons!!!! Keep Neighbors relevant to safety, crime and neighborhood-related issues!!!!! Post the stupid irrelevant posts on your social media page. Updated as of 04/25/25: This is the 5th update. No one wants to see the cutesy videos and posts on Neighbors. Save that for social media and stay relevant to posting about safety, crime and pertinent issues. The connection is still somewhat laggy. I am changing the batteries in the front cameras every two days. I called customer service and it was a waste of time. I explained about the unusual set up of the spotlight camera pro and considering adding a solar panel, but trying to figure out what mount may work. She told me to just look online and to figure it out. Updated as of 2/25/25: This 3rd update has made the app even worse if you could imagine it being any worse after the last two updates. I'm stuck with an orange banner across the app even though I'm a paid subscriber. The ring app is still glitchy. The neighbors app is useless as it freezes and causes the app to get stuck. We have a toxic water crisis in our community and need to use the app for updates.🙄 Ring used to be decent and the app was laid out in a way that made it useful — NOT anymore. Now the app is extremely laggy and Ring took away the most useful features. If Ring wants to justify doubling the monitoring fees, they should try listening to their customers who are paying for monitoring, and understand from a customer’s POV of what is useful. I can’t see Ring being successful based on the failed updates and charging double for monitoring fees. I wish I knew before spending so much money on Ring products that this company doesn’t care about the customer’s needs. Another class action needs to be filed against Ring as the app and the userability has been affected by these last two updates.
  • Dumbest Decision Ever

Need to go get the mail or do something outside? You can’t easily disable recording on your cameras. Now it’s buried and you have to do it for each device. Seriously, Ring, dumbest decision ever. Bring back the better controls. And it just keeps getting worse. New UI is absolute garbage. When my Ring cameras give up the ghost I will definitely be looking at an alternative based on their app.

Doorbell camera is not even two years old and color stopped working on it. Can only see things in black and white. Yes, I have checked the setting also to make sure it wasn’t set to night mode all the time.

I don’t go in the app much, but every time I do I’ve been logged out and miss seeing who was at the door. Defeats the purpose, really. You guys should fix that- most apps don’t have that problem. Maybe let us choose how “secure” we need the app to be on our phone?
  • Horrible “Update”

The latest update must have been developed by a non-user of this app. Most people appreciate simplicity. The latest update strays far from that when trying to review History. Take it back to the way it was and hire some intelligent developers!

This latest update has totally obliterated how we see all of our cameras in a concise timeline. Your community page has almost a dozen users demanding you switch it back. It defeats the purpose of how our cameras are recording events over a specific timeframe.
