    At a time when my mind was trying to go many places at the same time, this podcast helps provide direction with incredible thought provoking conversations, which are presented in a calm , understandable manner.

    App refresh changed to force download for episode playback, with no streaming option available. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a large issue, but Storage management in the app is absolutely horrendous, and auto deletion does not work. Storage bloat happens pretty quickly and takes a long time to clean up manually. Hopefully the dev can address these shortcomings, but in the meantime, this would be an app to avoid.

  • Fantastic app with one nagging bug

    I love Overcast and have used it as my default podcast app for >5 years. However, over the past ~6 months, I have consistently experienced problems when attempting to start playing nearly any podcast episode from a chapter bookmark (i.e., not from the very beginning of the episode). Irrespective of podcast, Overcast consistently fails to initiate playback and simply skips ahead to the next episode in the queue. This occurs with 100% reproducibility on both iPhone 16 Pro and iPad. I am able to go to the very same episode the Apple Podcasts app and initiate playback from a chapter maker without issue. I have also tested this on other 3rd party podcast apps, which initiate playback from a chapter marker without issue. Given that this issue is both relatively new and 100% reproducible, I’m hopeful that Marco will address this in a subsequent update.

  • Long time user, very disappointed

    I’ve used Overcast since 2017 and it used to work reliably. In the past year, they rewrote it and it’s now a glitchy mess. One simple example: in the middle of listening to a podcast, it stops deletes the podcast. If I download it again, it deletes it again. They must be really proud this new version because they tripled the subscription price.

    I guess they are trying to entice me to pay for premium, but who would pay for the premium version of a podcast app that cant remember which episode you played last and purposefully stops playing when you use the skip ahead button?

    I’ve been using overcast for well over 6 years between my old android and iphone, but in the past year I just feel like something is always broken in the app. That something switches, but it’s always something. I check the subreddit and see many people always complaining about the same thing. It’s insane

  • A big improvement over Stitcher

    This has taken some adjustment but it does so many things better than my previous podcast software. I should have made the change earlier.
