I was a longtime user of scannable, but it seems in recent updates it’s tried to oversimplify the interface and is overall glitchier. It doesn’t have the ability to just scan and share a file anywhere, instead requiring you to sync with Evernote and send to a notebook there. It also has zero manual options for your camera — no way to adjust the focus, zoom in or out, or otherwise get a sharp looking picture before it snaps a photo and attempt to convert to PDF. You *can* turn off the automatic photo taking feature, but it doesn’t mean anything when the in-app camera is like a dumbed down version of the regular iPhone camera. Without the ability to zoom or adjust focus or switch to the macro or wide lens, your success rate at getting a quality scan lies within a very delicate window where lighting and focus and random chance are all on your side at the moment of capture. I just switched over to Adobe’s scan OCR app for now and am having an easier time getting the end documents I need.

They couldn’t add value to their product so they just made any sort of value behind a paywall. It’s the mark of an increasingly irrelevant app.
  • Bad app

Ever since this app forced Evernote integration it has lost me. Truly a shame as this functionally was a great app.

It used to be simple and great, now it forces you to use evernote or to pay just to save a PDF.
  • Was great, $2.99 / week is absurd

I used to love this app and recommend it to everyone. I figured it would some day switch to requiring a payment, but I assumed it would be a reasonable amount. $2.99 per week for an app that is only used occasionally is absurd! I don’t pay $155 per year for apps that I use much more often than this. Hopefully they’ll figure it out and lower the price, but until then I’m using other apps.

This all was amazing until it now forces you to use Evernote and pay for Evernote. Better apps out there
  • Greedy App

App worked great for a while, no problem. Out of the blue it’s now requiring I pay an obscene amount to access the app, which used to be free!! DO NOT RECOMMEND, FIND ANOTHER APP!!
  • Great when it works!

This is a great scanner. The persistent, pesky issue is the apps inability to stay connected to Evernote. Evernote, its companion app to store and process scans is also great. The connectivity between the two is a real pain in the posterior! Just when you need it most, it takes on the aura of a printer or copier and goes on the Fritz. This happen often enough that I am now motivated to have it lose two stars. I hate that it will not stay connected to Evernote!
  • why would you charge for features you offered for years

literally so disappointed— this was my go-to app for YEARS, and now they’ve changed to paid subscription for basic features.
  • Ruined the app. Moving on…

Evernote acquired this app and now locks it behind an Evernote login. Evernote is shoddy as is so I’ll be finding a new scanning app since they tanked this one
