  • Boring and inefficient

Every lesson is a grueling slog that only serves to waste your time. The ui is barebones and the actual language content is typical and shallow. Save your money for a vacation or private lessons.
  • Not for Mexican Spanish

I really wanted to like this app. The different ways you can practice really help you hone in on what you’re weak on. But once again, today I was corrected by a native Mexican Spanish speaker because the app mostly teaches you Spanish from Spain. It is so embarrassing and frustrating to take the time to learn and memorize something, only to be told “we don’t say that”. I live in California and have no need for Spain Spanish. If there is an app out there specifically for Mexican Spanish, someone please let me know.
  • Not Great

This app is not great at all. It goes way too quickly and does not explain tenses or why you’re using the words that you’re using. I signed up to be able to use the live classes and I can’t even get into them and they are getting rid of them. Duolingo and Rosetta Stone are way better and way more user-friendly.
  • Love the app but hate the customer service

I have found this app works the best for me but when I developed a problem with the app recently on my iPad I tried contacting customer support for help. The AI chat bot was useless, the phone numbers for customer support don’t exist, and after three days of sending emails to ask for assistance I have only received an automated response that they received my request. At this point I am at the point of cancelling my subscription. It is so frustrating!

There are words & phrases in my daily life that I want translated. Instead I use google translator even though I have noticed that some words are translated differently so I have no language consistency. It would be a big help to my learning path and I’m very disappointed that it wasn’t built into the learning app as a side option. Many of the phrases that babbel has put together are nothing that I would use in my daily life.

There’s a lot of languages that a lot of other people wanna learn languages like Japanese Korean or Arabic, which is kind of annoying because I think it would be a good at and it’s really helpful, but there’s no language I wanna learn.

I joined for the Latin American Spanish. Only to later find out that it only goes to level A2. I found this out after my 20 days was up, and when I emailed them that this was a dealbreaker for me they mentioned that it was too late and just a change to European Spanish. I explained to them that European and Latin American Spanish are not the same and that I join American Spanish. I was very disappointed and on top of that their live class. Have ended, which was another reason that I had joined. Make sure you guys look up what language wanting and what level it goes up to before you guys pay for a subscription.
