To start I normally dodge christian companies. And this one was no different. But the prices were just way to competitive to pass up and duolingo is fun but didnt feel like i was learning anything and no life time subscriptions. I really like how it teaches h the grammar i already feel like im learning way more at a way faster speed because this app is teaching me the scructure immediately unlike rossetta stone (a product i like) and duolingo (another product i like) this app is awesome and safe to say ill be a life time learner on babbel!!! If I had to nit pick maybe when u use the mic itd be better if u didnt have to hold the button down just automatically prompted it for you. And maybe a lil less on translation or maybe give me a lil more option on when i can close the eye. But im being super nit picky know

Studying French for retirement in France. Babbel offers an immersive-light experience that places the student in real world situational dialogues wild at the same time teaching proper verb declination, and sentence structure. The environment is absolutely lovely with numerous options to minimize apprehension or stress. After trying several of the top competitor apps, I believe that this is the best language learning system available to the public. Thank you, Babbel.

The AI conversations need to be updated. You can go through all of them in a day and then they don’t change. There needs to be more, also, when doing the review, especially the listening reviews. there should be no end. It should just continue to keep going so you don’t have to wait another day to get new review questions. Great if you could slow down the dialogue manually so if you want to learn something slowly rather than fast you can.

This company has the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life.
  • Good content, notification settings need improvement

I really like the content of the app, but there are some basic things driving me up a wall. These are my suggestions: - Users are forced to have at least one reminder per week; disabling all days causes the save button to gray out. - Even with “streak notifications” disabled in settings, I still get them. - No way to opt out of the gamification (streak counter at the top of the home page). I find it distracting, not helpful; I left Duolingo because they went way overboard with the gamification. To be fair, this is MUCH milder, but I just want a simple learning-focused interface. Of course (regarding the first two) you can always disable all notifications on the phone settings level, but I don’t think people should have to do that. I’d like the option to sometimes have daily practice reminders, without the obnoxious “streak” reminders too. And I’d like to be able to disable those daily reminders for a while without having to go outside the app into my phone settings. It’s just not user-friendly design.

I've been muy ocupado for months. It was bien to empezar de nuevo. Hopefully, I can stick with it. I'm contento that I didn't quit.

As usual it takes time, but it gets worse with progress
  • No ads, good translations, does cost a subscription fee.

The translations seem pretty good (with some exceptions), it’s ad free and is overall worthwhile for the fee if you’re serious about language learning.

Babbel is a great Spanish teaching app. It has helped me and my children immensely. We started knowing a few words and now with Babbel we can speak full sentences
