  • The Application “OneDrive” Isn’t Open Anymore

The Application “OneDrive” Isn’t Open Anymore That’s all I see when trying to open the app. Doesn’t work, doesn’t open at all, nothing is syncing. Can’t recommend to anyone using this. Oh, and stop sending me notifications for photos and memories. I only want notifications for things related to the app. Like, maybe a notification other than the one in this title letting me know why the app isn’t opening.
  • Shared Folder cannot be accessed in Finder

Shared Folder cannot be accessed in Finder anymore… This feature keeps coming and going very. I loved using one drive for years now its been 8 years of 365 Family subscription … But suddenly the shared folder went missing from the finder and there's this problem of not having or seeing it under the OneDrive SYNC app/settings/account/choose folder.
  • Works fine on Mac M1

Seems to be running just fine, syncs files as expected. It does get updated constantly by Microsoft which is annoying. That just tells me that there’s something wrong with the code and developers just can’t get it right. Every time you get an update it says 'bug fixes and features'. So something is poorly coded. But, as I mentioned, it works for me.

  • Latest Update breaks shared folders

Using OneDrive version 25.065.0406.0002 on macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 and any folder shared with me shows up as a .url link. This is happening on two different Macs both fully updated. This is a deal breaker for me and will have to switch to a working cloud share provider if this is not fixed in a week. It makes the product unusable.
  • Poor user experience

It doesn’t allow me to sign in with another account and instead only allows me to select two of my other accounts. Then, once you’re logged in and you try to sign in with another account where you can enter the email that you actually want, it says “You’re already syncing a personal OneDrive on this computer. Unlink that account to add a new one.”
  • Randomly breaks shared folders

OneDrive on the Mac (latest Sequoia build for me at the moment) randomly breaks Finder integration of folder shared by others. What had been a visible folder - with subfolders in the sidebar and navigatable in all apps for collaboration - today became a URL to the web based folder with no means of accessing files on the Mac itself. Reading Microsoft’s own support site, thousands have reported this over the past two years … working fine…then all of a sudden just a URL … and Microsoft has done nothing in these years to fix this. Shameful and clearly not a cloud based file system that anyone can rely on for shared / collaborative work. OMG…it gets worse! I downloaded the folder from the OneDrive web portal… which gives me a ZIP file. But it is some ZIP format that the Mac does not recognize - so I had to open it in Windows, unzip it, and move the files back to the Mac. But… the creating date of every file unzipped on Windows becomes 1969. Just pitiful.
  • Latest Update Incompatible with my OS

I'm running a 2013 Mac Pro, which at max runs MacOS 12. The latest update applied automatically. It's not compatible with my OS. I need to roll it back so that I can use OneDrive on my desktop.
  • Stopped working with new update

New update fixed it (Late April 2025) - Used to work great, but stopped working a few days ago with an error “OneDrive couldn’t start” code -99. I’m on an M3 Mac with up to date OS. Bummer. I actually need it to work.

Not much focus from Microsoft to improve it or Apple is too restrictive and does not allow
