    This is a pretty good app probably good if you use it enough to pay the yearly fee. I don’t need all of the advanced mapping just would like to keep the locations of a few stands. I’ve used the app a couple of years and liked it but now they have made it to where every 30 seconds a banner pops up to upgrade to advanced mapping which makes it impossible to use so I probably will delete the app and not use it any more. Useless to me now.

    Let me preface, I am a hunter who has used this app for 8+ years here’s a couple of issues. 1. The map box update from google maps doesn’t work offline because some blocking api call and access to an area menu doesn’t allow me to access the offline maps option for a region unless I have signal. Which defeats offline maps purpose. 2. The map is glitchy I am constantly stuck on screens and selecting map layers. I’m currently stuck on tree cover and can’t get off no Matter what option I select. 3. The old app version had better caching now it’s constantly trying to reload instead of just keeping in local memory or on the device the current session. So back to point 1 if you have signal then lose it then open the app. Nothing. 4. The wind data has gotten terrible on the weather it will say SW wind only to on the Map show a NE wind opposite of apple and even what the apps weather shows. 5. My single most annoying bug is the fact y’all use my current location instead of the middle of the area GPS waypoint I have setup when I made the area like the app used to do. As someone who has multiple hunting areas in multiple states this with the locked out zoom level is sooo annoying. Sitting in florida having to scroll to North Dakota to find my area to plan a hunt…it’s untenable. Rant over please make it better.

    I’m sorry, but this app and others like it are not accurate at all. I own land and I constantly have people coming on my land and they say this app tells him where the property lines are, I have to correct them every time. I could just easily be having them arrested for trespassing. Remember that when you use these apps.

    I have used HuntStand for several years. I have overall enjoyed the app but be warned: it is very buggy. I am very tech savvy and know my way around interfaces. This year (2025), the wind app didn’t work at all…the entire season, which was annoying. If you Google this, it is a well-known problem. The line tool never was accurate this year. I had to reset the app frequently. I wrote to customer service twice complaining about issues. They responded to initial email acknowledging issues but the issues persisted. I haven’t heard back from my second email. I have downloaded OnX and will decide whether or not to keep HuntStand but bottom line: it was good but has gone down hill FAST.

    I tried to upgrade my subscription so I could use the rut map but since my current annual subscription just renewed I have to wait until next year on Dec. 8th to use the upgrade. Over half of deer season will over by then.

    Had the Pro version of this app for years on iphone. My subscription updated automatically. Did the same thing this year, the pro did not update. Apple processed my payment; it was deducted from my bank account, but Huntstand says they never received it. Same phone, same processor, same app, but different app ownership. My money just "vanished in thin air" with neither company, nor Apple, nor payment taking any responsibility. Buyer Beware!!!

    I absolutely use to love this app. By far the best hunting map app there was. Lots of bugs now. The LIDAR only works about 5% of the time. Wind direction on the wind cone is wrong half the time. Pins won’t pull up half the time. Hope they get the bugs fixed. Used to be an amazing app.

    I have used Huntstand since it began. This app has gone downhill fast. Constant glitches, weather data (especially wind) is typically completely wrong. Bought a new bow that came with a 3 month trial for OnX and will be making the switch.

  • Just gets worse

    Every update the app just gets worse and worse. I used to love this app. 2-3 years ago it was perfect. Every update since then has made the maps worse, the timezones don’t line up with where I’m physically at, tools get harder to use, etc…
