Getting notifications about your period can be embarrassing, but if it’s once a month, the odds of someone seeing it are pretty low. I have my preferences set to that little warning. Great! Except… I get notifs asking me to “join Clue Plus!” and “unlock (x) features!” regularly. I got two today, and I’m not even due for another week. I’ve never written a review before, but… ugh. There’s marketing a paid subscription, and then there’s being a nuisance. I fully understand the importance of supporting developers and getting paid for putting in the work for helpful software. But I have no interest in knowing all that stuff— I’m blessedly regular, and I just want a tracker that sends me a notification once a month. And I can’t just switch to another period tracker, all my data is on this one! I know that, and I think the devs know that too. :(

I’ve been using this app for EIGHT years now and it has always worked so effortlessly and efficiently. But recently all i get are popups to download the paid version of the app after every single thing i click !!!! oh ok you wanna open the app? pop up. you want to pick a day to track ? pop up. you want to exit out of that to back to the main page? POP UP. It’s sooooo annoying and frustrating when i’m getting multiple ads in my face when i open the app ONCE

I’ve been using Clue for nearly 10 years now and used to love it, but over the past year it’s become more and more about pressuring users to pay for upgrades. Every time I open the app or input any data there are pop-ups advertising paid plans (sometimes more than one pop-up at a time) and it gets very old. They’ve also taken away the ability to see your past cycle data laid out in a visually coherent way unless you upgrade to paid. This info was very valuable to me, as my cycle is extremely irregular, and was previously my favorite thing about Clue. The ability to now only see it in calendar view for free is not helpful to me in tracking this quickly to keep my GP updated. I’m currently looking for other options.

Used to be a five star experience, now I can’t click anything without an ad popping up begging me to get the premium version. I dint want anything fancy! Just a cycle tracker!

I like the app to track, but there are constant pop ups for the subscription. I havent used another tracker app to compare yet.
  • It's no longer a good free app.

I have been using clue for well over 8 years, and I feel cheated that I have been logging my personal information in an app that then locks me out from seeing my YEARS of data to force me into a paid subscription. It is my data. Clue would not have it if I did not decide I wanted to track it. An utterly horrible move from this company. I feel betrayed as a consumer. I am entitled to access to MY personal data. I will be switching to a different app after this horrible update.
  • Notifications are out of control!!

I’ve had this app for years for period tracking but lately they have been absolutely spamming me with ad notifications!! 🙄 Every day at least I’ve gotten a new ad about some sale. I’m considering deleting it and getting a different app. I’ve tried adjusting the notification settings and they still keep sending them. I’ve tried messaging the company also with no reply. It’s a mild inconvenience that’s getting really old. I just want to track my dang period
  • Quit it with the splash ads, already.

I just want to open the app and record my business, but no — you have to wank up the experience with an ad right off the bat. I’ve seriously had it with the ads. The latest one is the most annoying yet; the “X” to close it is deliberately obscured in the upper right corner so it’s barely visible. I’m seriously thinking about deleting the app if you don’t knock it off. You’re not advertising, you’re being obnoxious.

I loved this app, I had been loyal to it for YEARS but constantly being bombarded to upgrade to clue + is annoying, I personally have no reason to pay for a period tracking app and it’s extremely frustrating that I get prompted to upgrade 3 times every time I use the app. It would be great if they had an option to permanently dismiss the ad, I’ll be looking for a different app for tracking.

I love the Clue app! After inputing data for a while it accurately tracks my cycle and is very informative. However, I do have an issue with their Clue Connect feature. My wife and I would love to take advantage of this feature, but its only one sided. In other words, I can track her cycle but she cannot track mine. Unless I am mistaken, it seems like the Clue Connect is only set up for couples that only have one partner that goes through a menstrual cycle, which is a little disappointing.
