  • Just doesn’t work

The calorie counts and macro tracking were all so very incorrect. That is for the foods I had specific nutrition values on. I would definitely not trust it to add up a recipe.
  • It’s okay…

I wish everything wasn’t in grams to track the food. Sometimes I make my own latte and don’t want to figure out the conversion. Also wish it tracked water intake and burned calories from workouts. No cute outfits or a house to create either for my pet. It’s just okay

I really like this app so far. It’s very positive and you can personalize the look. The AI photo has actually been fairly accurate and I like that you can update it as needed. I wish the AI typing function was easier to update. Seems like it’s more “set in stone” than the other functions. What I realllllly wish they had was a way to save my recipes to the list and be able to plug in portions from it. A lot of things I make are stews and soups so it’s really difficult to capture everything in a picture and tedious to type it all in and have to back search for it. Edit: Things that would make this app much better. 1) Ability to add meals to previous days 2) Copying meals between days 3) Barcode Scanning
  • really cute but inaccurate

this app is a great idea and i want to like it bc it seems so convenient but unfortunately just taking images does not provide an accurate tracker. it’s very inconsistent. a lot of the time i eat the same thing but it shows different results even with water. the protein and carbs aren’t always accurate to what the food label says either. if you don’t use a scale or an exact serving size it’s also very hard to track.
  • Cute idea but bulky entry and inaccurate

It’s such a cute idea but entering in your foods accurately isn’t the easiest. Taking a photo of your foods is easy, but can’t tell the difference between, for instance, a dried mango with added sugar, and an organic dried mango with nothing added. Huge difference in my book.
  • Great concept

BitePal is a great change from MyFitnessPal for me, because the layout is a little friendlier, I enjoy having a photo diary of my meals, and the general positive messages and helpful dietary suggestions. The character is a major plus. This app is lacking in that area, it could have so much more to do with the character, like adventures, outfits, etc. I would NOT call the calorie and macro counts 100% reliable. I’m just glad to loosen the reigns a little on calorie tracking and take some advice on healthier living. Hoping to see more from this app soon!!
  • Unreliable. Does not work most of the time

4/5 times I opened this app I couldn’t get it to accept any items I submitted.
  • Good app! Another suggestion!

I’ve been using BitePal for a few months in my ED recovery journey and it has been a good balance of structure and flexibility/positivity that enables the obsessiveness around food less than other tracking apps I’ve used. I still find it helpful to track or else I get worse, so this is a good option. I’m glad that the app updated so that you can log meals for past days. I would add a suggestion/request that you could change the day/time of a meal in the edit tab, after it has already been logged. I keep accidentally logging past days’ meals for the current day and instead of just being able to edit it I have to delete and re-log.
  • Calorie tracking was WAY off

I tracked my meals today and almost every one of them was incorrect! It tracked a 4 oz lean pork chop at 550 cals & 1 cup Bob Evans Mac & cheese at 700 calories, both of which is widely inaccurate. Not helpful if the calorie count is so off base. I’ve already unsubscribed & deleted it.
