im trying to pay and it wont let me i tried many different ways honestly you should let apple iTunes be an option to pay for the subscription and allow adds to get u free episodes like the other apps it annoying

Why isn’t there a way to get “rewards” like every other short drama app? It stinks to be only able to watch a minute or so episode and have to wait another 12 hours for the next one. The dramas are good but I’m not paying for them.

You have GOT to be kidding me? Only one episode per 24 hours???

Have to pay $1.99 for 50 coins after the first episode just to watch 1/2 a minute of an episode and get asked to buy more coins. Not worth the $

EDIT: adding one star to my rating bc they just updated the UI to add the text “CandyJar original” to the thumbnails, as well as a quick logo screen at the very beginning of their verticals. 100% of them have been CandyJar originals until 14 releases ago— 8 of the last 13 releases are not marked as originals. The good news is that the 8 imports are the ones with the extremely noticeable drop in quality, and CandyJar hasn’t stopped putting that extra effort into making their verticals stand out compared to other apps. TBD on whether or not it’s bad news that they’re suddenly adding lower quality content from other sources…? Maybe they just wanna expand their library to have more offerings or whatever, but I do feel like the imported verticals should either unlock more than 1 free episode every 24 hours, or have options for watching ads to unlock episodes, or charge fewer tokens, or something. Bc they just aren’t even close to the same level of overall filmmaking effort and quality. original review Dec 2025 — CandyJar used to stand out among apps like this due to its noticeably higher quality acting, directing, makeup/hair, costuming, editing, dialogue, sound, lighting, etc. Self-aware about its melodrama and campy villains, with higher-effort production value that felt like everyone was having a lot of fun with it while striking a balance between not taking themselves too seriously and still taking pride in the work. But recently, the whole vibe started carbon copying the EXTRA cringey over-the-top melodrama style of the content in the other app libraries, with a huge drop in overall quality and production value. If this is supposed to be self-aware and ironically give low effort soapy vibes, they aren’t hitting their mark anymore. Instead, it reads more like they just stopped taking any pride in what they’re doing, or like this app was sold to a company that doesn’t gaf, or like they no longer wanted to pay film artists what they’re worth, or like someone’s nephew was put in charge, or something. Or maybe, idk, like they’re just high key giving us content from other apps while claiming that all CandyJar’s “original” content comes from Galatea/Inkitt stories. Their most recent release, “I Can Hear His Thoughts,” has been on DramaBox for a while now, yet CandyJar slapped their watermark on it. I know some of these platforms share content, but until recently, CandyJar wasn’t among those because it was putting out higher quality shorts that were (loosely) based on original Galatea stories. Some of this recent, lower quality content also puts actors into what are essentially remakes of stories they were in on other platforms. Like “Fires of Love” that was recently released on CandyJar stars the same actress from “Desires in Fire,” which I watched on DramaBox (the ML is Luigi M’s doppelgänger, frfr), and they share a bunch of major plot points. Like for real is CandyJar doing this to be self-aware and ironic with a little nudge-wink 😏 to crossover users, or are they just trolling? Did they stop producing original content? ☹️ For an app that only puts out one new short per week (which is perfectly fine if they’re original and higher quality), has a much smaller library than other similar platforms (again totally cool when they’re higher quality and all originals), and offers a subscription service that can only be purchased as an annual sub with no shorter-term options, this sudden drop in quality and recycling content from other platforms feels like an insult to the users, actors, and film artists. Why would the average user pay for this subscription (thereby supporting the artists) if they can get the exact same quality of content (or straight-up the exact same content) on a platform that lets them earn tokens by watching ads and offers weekly and monthly subscriptions? Bring back the higher quality content!

They are too short, the ends make you wonder what happened next, over priced, paid $60 for yearly and got to watch 1 show. Same actresses in a lot of the stories.

I like the story’s but I just paid 7 dollars for credit to see more episodes and they took the money but didn’t give the coins, u can watch for free but only get episodes ever 24 hrs

I actually liked the content. But, I decided to cancel the subscription is where the problems came. There’s no link to do it online or in the app. The “manage subscription” app button didn’t work. The help desk page doesn’t even show anything related to it as an option. I don’t like when customers don’t have the option give in a straightforward way.
