Description

HomeBatteries makes it super quick & easy to see all of your HomeKit accessory batteries in one location. * As featured on HomeKit Insider, Shane Whatley & 9to5Mac * If you have ever found yourself in the situation where a battery powered HomeKit accessory has stopped working, then HomeBatteries can prevent it from happening again. HomeBatteries enables you to view all of your Apple Home device battery levels in one place and get notified before they run out of power. HomeBatteries contains these great features: BATTERY STATUS View each accessoryʼs battery level as a percentage alongside a glyph which gets highlighted if it is running low. Selecting an accessory will let you see even more details about the device including charge status, trends and more. NOTIFICATIONS Get notified before an accessory runs out of battery with support for notifications. Notifications are fully customizable from the Settings screen. BATTERY TRENDS View a history of your accessory battery levels and see when it was last charged/replaced so you can determine how long a battery lasts. WIDGETS Add the Low Batteries & Batteries widgets to see the status of your accessories on your Home or Lock Screen. SHORTCUTS With deep support for Siri Shortcuts, you’ll be able to access and control many features of the app. Use your device, or even HomePod, to get battery levels, last charge date and see which accessories are running low. APPLE WATCH View all of your batteries at a glance with the companion Apple Watch app. BATTERY TYPES Set the battery type for each accessory from a preset list of options or choose your own so you know what you need when it comes to charging/replacing them. ICLOUD SYNC Trend data and settings for all of your accessories sync over iCloud so you can access them from your other Apple devices. UNIVERSAL PURCHASE Get this app across multiple Apple platforms with a single purchase. Your HomeBatteries+ subscription works across devices too. If you like this app, I’d really appreciate it if you could take the time to leave a positive review! Having issues? Please get in touch: Email: [email protected] Website: https://adamfoot.dev Please note that devices should have already been setup in the Apple Home app to use this app. Not all battery powered devices expose their battery level to HomeKit and will therefore not appear in HomeBatteries or the Home app. Notifications & widgets may not be up-to-date 100% of the time due to limitations with accessing HomeKit in the background but there is a Shortcuts Automation that can be enabled to improve this. Some features may require a HomeBatteries+ subscription which can be purchased in the app. You can cancel at anytime. Terms: https://adamfoot.dev/terms-of-use

  • Ridiculously high constant CPU usage

Will not end process, persistent reactivation, constant 40-60% CPU usage with constant spikes over 400%. I will not be using any of the apps from this developer any longer.
  • Good idea

And a good app to keep track of multiple locations.
  • Useless for Hue

Pretty useless if you have a lot of Philips Hue devices. Non of them detected with device type or battery type. Battery status or charge level isn’t shown even if you add them manually. Canceling subscription. Not worth it as is.
  • Does one thing and does it well

Dirt simple app that does one thing and does it really well. It’s surprising how handy it is to just be able to see the battery status of every HomeKit device in a single screen. There’s no fluff here, no code-for-the-sake-of-code. It focuses on the task at hand and I appreciate that.
  • Lost data

It deleted all of my battery info between the last time I looked at it now. Fail.
  • Paid app that went subscription

I bought this app and it went subscription. I guess that’s fine since my purchase was maintained, but when I open the app I get an ad to upgrade. It’s very annoying. There’s no option to turn it off from what I can see.
  • Notes section?

    By Retro-Classic-Rover
Thanks for update. Would it be possible to include a Notes section in each accessory, so we can enter the maker of the battery being used? Just want to log which batteries are from Eneloop (Panasonic), Ladda (Ikea), Duracell, Tenergy, etc. Would also like to clear battery log. Is that option hidden? Previous: Thanks for the update with more detailed information! Would be nice if more detailed information is provided after tapping the name of the device—if it’s a camera by Eufy, motion sensor by Hue, etc.
  • Refresh doesn't work

Check when you open the app, but refresh doesn't work even when jumping through the Shortcuts refresh garbage. Shortcuts automation failed.
  • Great simple app for monitoring batteries of HomeKit accessories

This app is a new app. It's made by an independent developer. Kudos to the developer for having the idea to make this app. The developer has implemented several cool features in the app. You're actually able to tell the app what kind of battery the devices take and also how many they take. I think the app could use a couple of simple UI fixes and the lifetime subscription of $20 is a bit steep for a simple app like this, but I'll happily pay it since it's not a large company making the app.
  • Amazing update in version 2.x

The number of updated and added features in version 2 made this already useful app even better. It was an instant subscribe for me. I regularly spend more than the annual subscription price on a single drink at a restaurant, and I get far less value from the drink. Thanks for continuing to add useful features to this somewhat niche app!
