  • Matches my rain gauges quite closely!

I have scattered properties and scattered rain gauges, and, because this app has history of all areas’s rainfall, it is fun to check out what is going on around my places. It is an easy to use app with customization and historical data. One of my favorite things to do is look back and see what happened, yesterday. I couldn’t ever find it anyplace, until now!
  • Rain Gauge Accuracy

When I first got the app, I did not have a digital rain gauge. Now that I do, I am able to see discrepancies in the rainfall accumulation. The past 24 hours our rainfall was 2.06 inches. The rain gauge out for my location reads 1.18. It is nice to know an approximate amount of rainfall for my business. But I need it to be much more accurate.
  • Cool app, but inaccurate for how expensive it is.

The app is great, but it’s ridiculously expensive for what it is. On top of that it’s not super accurate. There have been several times it’s off by 1/2 inch or more from our actual gauge.

Accurate records of total rainfall across America are the worst scientific collection of data I've ever seen by a government agency. I live in a place where just 2 miles can bury the rainfall by 50% during the course of a year. That is not a scientific way to accumulate data, one spot in a large geographic area doesn't mean anything. Raindrop is the first entity to accurately record, rainfall totals across a geographic area.

Only thing free is the rain gauge. Anything more is available at a ridiculous cost!

I can attest to how easy and accurate this app is. I use this for my golf rounds faithfully. It’s saved me from some serious downpours. Lately our weather has been very wet and playing golf is better dry than wet. I’ve subscribed to a couple of other weather apps but rain is not their focal point. This app covers my immediate and projected tee times without digging thru the apps’ other features. Highly recommend this app.

I like how the raindrop reports how much rain I’ve had on my locations on the farm. I have found that raindrop actually records more rain than it actually is getting like the last Rain I had actual 4/10 in my gauge on my home farm. And the raindrop recorded 6/10 but for the most part, I do like the convenience of getting a report on the Rain just not as accurate as I had hoped.

I use this app for two home locations. At one location I have a professional rain gauge. I can verify the accuracy of this app close enough. At the other yard, I do not have a way to verify the actual amount of precipitation. It is this rural location that seems to lack in accuracy. One time it showed that we had rain, when we did not. It is raining right now, but the app shows that we have zero rain. This is disappointing because I use this information to decide whether I need to water my plants.
  • Updates are not often enough

I downloaded this app to try it out and it works without even subscribing to it. I decided to try the “three day free trial” thinking it would unlock everything within the app for just three days, but it doesn’t do that. After using the free trial and trying to look at a 48 hour rainfall target it says I need to pay for the app to see anything further out than a regular 24 hours and in 24 hours time the app does not update the rainfall amounts it has since rained over 5 inches in my location and the app still says What it did yesterday. So this app might be a paperweight they offer a free subscription, but don’t allow you to utilize any of the features without paying for it, which is kind of dumb if you have a free trial. At the end of the free trial you will be charged $4.14 per month to use the app which doesn’t make sense if you pay for the monthly subscription on the app and it only charged you $2.14. You would think after taking a three day free trial you would offer the two dollar price versus the four dollar price. The sub subscription makes no sense. If the app was updated more frequently, it would be worth it, but since it doesn’t, you’re better off relying on other weather sources to get more accurate information
