  • Misleading and terrible customer service

I created an account with my Apple login and because of that, my haven’t been able to access my subscription information. Their subscription portal lacks that authentication. Their pricing model is awful too. For whatever reason they charge you a monthly fee for the first month and then 3 months in advance afterwards. Their customer service chat is just a bot that isn’t helpful.

I can’t get past the Allow Apple Health popup no matter how many times I press the button. There are no other buttons to press to close the popup. So much for that $139 I just spent.
  • Used to be great, fell off

This app used to be pretty intuitive and engaging to use. However attempts to “improve”it have only added more friction to process of following through with the habits. While the changes are small and the added friction of each may seem insignificant, the cumulative effect is that the experience of using the app is now unpleasant. Examples: You are now, after weighing in, prompted to optionally react with an emoji and/or comment. It adds steps. It’s just annoying. Not sure if this one is intentional or a glitch, but, before, all the habits were displayed on the main page (water, weighing in, tracking meals, track your steps). I now (usually) have to go through a landing screen with only a step counter that also has a “Track More Habits” button to take you to the rest of them. Again, an additional step, which is more friction, which makes the experience unpleasant. Used to love this app. It worked really well for my weight loss journey. However, I now use it only begrudgingly hoping it goes back to what it once was. Or until a better system takes its place.
  • Worst service ever

The doctor didn’t even show up for my visit. My friend warned me that they don’t schedule well. Don’t waste your time or money on noom.
  • Winning the War

I have fought battles of the bulge through out my life. I say battles because it wasn’t one fight; it was a constant series of campaigns, sometimes with some decent success, but always followed by months or years of uneasy peace during which the pounds came back. About 18 months ago I found Noom, and it has changed everything. Since then, as I’ve read the lessons on Noom and followed the routines of recording my choices (and reflecting on them!) I have become very slowly aware of and tuned to the behaviors that were defeating me time and again. Very slowly changing my lifestyle by eating better and a bit less and incorporating modest amounts of different exercise and movement has led to a dramatic improvement in my health. I have lost 60 pounds, I sleep better, my mood is better and I just feel more whole. I have a ways still to go to reach my goal weight, and I’m still keen on achieving it, but I’m not obsessed with it. My feelings about diet and food and weight have changed fundamentally in the past year and a half. I feel like I’m now winning the war, which is something I never felt before, and something I don’t think I could have without Noom.
  • Can’t easily cancel when it Sponsored by your Medical provider

This program isn’t for everyone. I tried it for a year and it was so- so. I didn’t lose much. It’s probably the first program that felt intrusive. This program works better for extroverted people. Lastly, I tried it because my medical provider offers it as “free.” I tried to cancel many times after accidentally renewing. I didn’t use it for the second year so I don’t know if this app is going to sit out there and collect payments from my medical program. I tried everything to cancel. They do everything through chatbots and emails. Who is to say you are actually talking to a person while using this program. Either way, I didn’t like I and just want it canceled and information deleted. No success. Now I am told that I will get an email to submit my request. I am going to contact my provider. The problem is they are closed when I am free but I hope I can warn them over the weekend. A person should be able to cancel through the app or online easily regardless who’s paying for it. My provider can afford to do it because technically all those on the medical program is paying for it anyway.
  • Noom Works!

This app has helped me build awareness and knowledge and accountability for effective ways to lose weight. Before Noom, I thought I knew it all already, but have learned a lot already … the app is a goldmine.

  • Reached My Goal!

    By mojoro33
I’m 20yrs old and 5’ 1”. Started Noom 6 months ago. I was 150Ibs and my goal weight was 140. I lost those 10 pounds in 4 months and I have been able to keep it down easily. I went from a size 10 to an 8 and I’m not busting through my shirts anymore either! Thanks Noom! This is going to sound like an ad- but, with Noom, I learned what foods actually hurt your weight loss (sometimes it’s not what’d you’d think,) I learned what foods I like that are calorically low, and I learned good eating habits. Also, when they say you don’t have to give up your favorite treats, they’re not lying. It didn’t feel like I was on a diet. I ate what I wanted, just sometimes in less quantities. Some days weren’t perfect but I still kept on track. Noom also encourages you to take a treat-day each week, which helped me not to get bored or feel trapped. The only people I’ve seen Noom not work for are those who don’t work with Noom. You *have* to commit to every part of the program to see results. Full disclosure, if you don’t want to count calories, Noom isn’t for you. But it does make counting calories really easy! I had never done that before and I was able to figure it out. You just submit what you eat and in what quantities and the app does the work. I really liked all the features. The only one I didn’t really use was the community, but I feel like it would be really helpful for someone who wants to lose more weight than me. I just didn’t use the program long enough. The only problem I had was the price. It is waaaay too expensive. Tbh I don’t know why they charge so much. I put in my email on the website and waited a long time for a serious discount offer before even considering paying. Even with the discount I think it was overpriced. My friend who wanted to lose more weight than I did got a much better discount than me, which I understand, but it didn’t feel very fair. I would not ever pay full price. Put in your email and be patient for a discount. Other than that, it’s really great and it worked for me. One more small piece of advice, in order to lose weight you need to love your body. And, you need to eat enough. You’re worth it! ❤️
