Noom makes it easy to navigate and use the tools. The reminders really help me to mange keeping track of my information.

I’ve been using the free version of Noom for about a decade, and have always loved it. It was the perfect exercise app: accurate, gave positive feedback, wasn’t pushy, and allowed you to go at your own pace. It helped me stay in shape years ago after quitting competitive sports, it helped me feel productive and gave me something positive to focus on during Covid, and over the last year, I’ve even used it to keep active for my upcoming wedding… so imagine my surprise when I updated the app today and found a capitalist nightmare waiting in place of my beloved app. They seem to have hidden or removed features formally obvious in the free version, with the ability to log your exercises (outside of steps) being hard to find now and some people losing all their history. In other words, the most basic features you’d want have been reduced. On top of that, they’re starting to encourage getting face and body scans, which I find extremely creepy in concept. In a world where data harvesting is increasingly invasive, this just felt like the sad cherry on top of a disappointment sundae. The new “gamefication” aspect honestly annoys me a bit too because your phone will vibrate every time you do something remotely productive. I miss the unobtrusive Noom. If you have the old Noom and like it, don’t update. Treasure your precious time together. If you’re willing to pay, maybe give a subscription a go… but the free version is no longer what it was. Still useable, but not improved in my opinion. You’re probably better off manually keeping track of things with your Health app. R.i.p., old Noom, you will be missed 😔
  • They ruined a great thing

I absolutely loved this app. I not only used it, I also told everyone how great it was. While in school I took a hiatus. I recently decided to get back to it. Being a recent graduate, money is tight, so I decided to start out using the free portion. Unfortunately, Noom has changed their entire app. Not only do you have to download the secondary app, NoomVibe, but 98% of the features that were on the original are gone. I don’t typically pay for apps, but the features they previously had on the free version worked so well I was happy for more. To Noom: I don’t know why you changed everything, but what you had was incredible. I came away from using the app, feeling educated and powerful in changing my habits. I do understand from a business standpoint, having to change some things, but everything good about this app is now gone. What made Noom special no longer exists and is now no better than any of the thousand other weight loss apps. If I wanted to just log my weight, I would get a pin and paper. I don’t care about points and getting gift cards. I don’t want to be sold medication, I have a doctor for that. If there is ever a time these changes are rethought, I would definitely come back. For now, I will be left trying to find something that works as well as this did.
  • Ongoing issues with app

Since downloading the app several days ago, the app has not worked properly. I cannot access any lessons and the add on class is not showing up. I’ve reached out multiple times to support with no resolution. I am considering cancelling my subscription and asking for a refund.
  • Great Program, Buggy App

Not for me. The look and feel and resources they have are great. I liked that they had recipes and motivational and educational content. Definitely a more holistic approach than a lot of the traditional meal tracking apps. But the app was soooo buggy and their calorie counts were really off. For example, they listed chickpeas as a “green” food in a recipe, but as an “orange” (bad) food in other places. They need to spend some time working on the UI and maintaining consistency across features. I would come back if they relaunched!
  • User Beware—Good Product, But Suboptimal Transparency

The tracking and education are great, if alittle cumbersome. My disappointment stems from their lack of transparency with customers. The renewal fees are automatic and seem to have increased without a notification. And when you need to cancel the subscription there is ZERO refund at any time once the auto renewal has gone through, even if you have not used the app in months or even in the weeks since the auto-renewal that snuck up on you without warning.

Noon is so SUPER COOL. I’m able to count steps, and see which foods are good and GREEN for me. Thanks, Noom!
  • Sales pressure until you drop

I’ve used NOOM in the past, when was priced reasonably and was simple to navigate. In the past year or so, the app has transformed into a marketing machine, such that I can’t find my way around it. The app continually wants you to ‘upgrade’ to new services, and the Home Screen is a billboard that inhibits navigation. A once-great app, ruined by ambitions for profit beyond reason.

  • AI slop

I used to like their content because the audio made it feel like I was getting individual coaching even though it was an app, but they obviously changed the audio to AI and then insisted I didn't when I complained. So suddenly your actors didn't understand inflection? Okay. Last thing I need is more AI slop in my life.
