  • Accurate and concise report of the days news

The Globe knows how to provide the days news without extraneous commentary and stays focused on the important news
  • E newspaper

This rating is not addressing the content of the paper but rather the technology underlying the E version. As many E version readers, I imagine, access the E version on an IPad or similar tablet, one would think the E version would be completely compatible with such devices. That’s not the case. The pages don’t fit, articles can’t be imported into other apps, scrolling is cumbersome. I read the E version of the Providence Journal daily and the experience is much better (although the content is terrible).
  • Significant issues with app navigation and remembering login

I’m logged into the app. If I open an article and scroll down, under the expanded comments, there’s a link that says “please login to comment.” I tap the link, it will either open my phone’s default web browser view of the Globe, (often to a different article) or will open in a mini-mobile web view. This is WITHOUT launching the web browser app - I’m still within the Globe app, but it shows the full article url and is no longer in dark mode. …It’s worth noting that every day several articles (seemingly random ones), when selected from the app Home Screen, open this way. From here, the mobile web option to “open in the Boston Globe app” will loop and do nothing because the user technically never left the app. Either way - still trying to comment: The browser/minibrowser are also logged into my account but won’t let me comment either. Bad bugs for readers trying to stay engaged.
  • Needs to stop directing to internal browser

Some articles like (live updates) try to open in a browser instead of an app and then force you to login again. That’s really poor design for a news app that we have to pay for to begin with.
  • Not balanced coverage

Over the top with liberal opinion throughout the paper -how can I trust what you present as news?
  • Must we sign in 80 times a day?

I am a Sunday paper subscriber. Every time I want to view the news online I have to sign in-multiple time a day. Plus I get errors on puzzles and haven’t played one on app yet (at least a month). This is my worst app review

  • Irritating to open

Why if I receive an email with an article and invitation to read it is it necessary to go through all the account login rather than just opening?
  • Forced to use the paper instead of app

One of my two iPads apparently can’t access the app version of The Globe which I much prefer to the e-paper. When I try to open the app globe it asks me to subscribe even though I have a current subscription.

I click on an article to read it in the Boston Globe app. It tells me at the top that I should open it in the Boston Globe app. But I’m already in the Boston Globe app. What is the problem?
