  • Great app for comic fans, but needs personal list features

Marvel Unlimited is an amazing app with a massive library of comics and a smooth reading experience. However, one thing that would really improve the experience is the ability to create custom lists or collections. Being able to organize comics into folders (like “To Read,” “Favorite Arcs,” or “X-Men Reads”) would make a huge difference. Right now, it’s hard to keep track of what I’m reading or planning to read unless I search manually every time. Please add custom user-created lists — it would take this already great app to the next level!
  • Great idea, bad execution

The amount of comics is absolutely ridiculous, and I highly recommend purchasing for people wanting to plow their way through years of comics. Unfortunately there are several major flaws with this. I’d say once every 2 weeks to a month you’ll be logged out and have to restore your subscription, which will lose all of your recently read comics. You will definitely need to book mark your progress in the notes app. The search engine is horrible. You cannot look up specific issues of comics. You have to find the series and then scroll all the way to the comic. Not to mention the fact it’s one volume vertical scrolling. If it was three columns vertical scrolling it would make the search process much faster. The reading guides are decent, but in the end lackluster. There are many feature missing, key above all being you cannot read several titles at once by release date. For example, I’m reading through late 80’s Spiderman. Why is there no way to read ASM, PPSSM, and WOSM in order by release date? I understand I can create a playlist, but the amount of time and inconvenience makes it hard than it needs to be. I’d love to have a way to toggle on several titles from a certain year. For example you should be able to read all Spider-Man, all x men, all avengers, and all silver surfer by release date, saving you from selecting and scrolling to each comic in a series. If a few things were tweaked and added this would be an easy 5 out of 5. I really hope I can give a higher score in the future and love the idea of so many comics being accessible without spending a fortune on omnis or trades.

Great app over all generally easy to find issues and series and great digitalization. I did noticed however that there is a lot of issues from Spider-Man (1990-1998) that are missing and if I’m paying subscription it’s really annoying to have to buy the missing issues to complete the series.

App is great, comics are great, crashes and losing your continued reading tab once a day is not great

First of all, 10 bucks is too much for what it is. Needs to be about half that since all of this is online and easily accessible. Having access to all of the comics in good quality is neat WHEN it’s working. It seems like 1/5 comics don’t load at all.
  • Thank you Scott Aukerman!

I got Marvel Unlimited because I had to read Scott Aukerman’s Spiderman. Huge fan of his, and of Comedy Bang Bang. The comic rocks! So good! I stopped reading comics in 2015 and this reinvigorated my love of Marvel. I got an annual subscription, and I’m now catching up on Star Wars I missed, and going to pick back up on the rest of Marvel where I left off. As well as reading every issue Aukerman writes.
  • Absolutely shreds battery life when offline

Works fine when connected to internet but drains battery super fast when in airplane mode. When reading downloaded comics offline I'm losing battery at 3x the rate of normal. Not sure if there's a rogue process, bad error handling that's multiplying, or if reading the comics from mem is just that heavy.

For an app I use heavily to catch up on old issues (I’m finally up to 2018 from 2000) it boggles my mind that years later the “remove from continued reading” button only works on like half of the issues. I just want to clear out the clutter in my continue reading, but I’m sitting on like 90 series I just can’t remove. Other than that, it’s really good value for your money.
