Description

HINGE, DESIGNED TO BE DELETED Hinge is the dating app for people who want to get off dating apps. And it’s working. Currently, 3 out of 4 times Hinge members want to go on a second date, we’re the #1 mobile-first dating app mentioned in the New York Times wedding section, and we’re the fastest growing dating app in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. HOW WE GET YOU OFF HINGE In today’s digital world, singles are so busy matching that they’re not actually connecting, in person, where it counts. Hinge is on a mission to change that. So we built an app that’s designed to be deleted. * We quickly learn your type. You’ll only be introduced to the best people for you. * We give you a sense of someone’s personality. You’ll get to know potential dates through their unique answers to prompts, and personal information like religion, height, and politics. * We make it easy to start a conversation. Every match begins by someone liking or commenting on a specific part of your profile. * We ask how your dates are going. After exchanging phone numbers with a Match, we’ll follow up to hear how your date went so we can make better recommendations in the future. The app is free to use. Members looking to see who likes them or to set advanced preferences can upgrade to a Preferred Membership. THE BUZZ ABOUT HINGE “Hinge’s CEO says a good dating app relies on vulnerability, not algorithms.” - Washington Post "Hinge is the first dating app to actually measure real-world success" - TechCrunch “A great option for those fed up with temporary love.” -TheNextWeb SUBSCRIPTION INFO Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to Account Settings after purchase Support: [email protected] Terms of Service: https://hinge.co/terms.html Privacy Policy: https://hinge.co/privacy.html

They will be summoned by class action lawsuits soon because they are categorizing and displaying people according to their skin of color, weight and height which is illegal and extremely immoral. Please report this app and their founders, they are really horrible people.

On the advice of friends I rolled the dice..paid $30, set up profile and started viewing etc. NOT good..not a quality place to meet people. Got so tired of hitting X I cancelled. I tried to get my money back but no luck. My advice is to look elsewhere for connections! Seriously

  • Disappointing

This app has gone downhill. The app is riddled with women soliciting sex, the standouts never appear in the regular feed and being forced to send a rose is cheesy. Overall, this app has become really disappointing, and it was the best dating app.
  • Favorite Dating app but...

So I definitely enjoy Hinge more than other dating apps although I do take issue with with just some of the UX design so if that’s your job this review is for you. I like that Hinge doesn’t use swiping and it’s designed so that you spend a bit more time on someone’s profile than other apps. However, the white break between each profile is pretty off-putting. I, like many people, often browse the app before bed and I can only withstand two or three bright white flashes before I close the app and give up. I’ve tried lowering the white point or putting the phone in smart inverse but the photos are then too dark or inverted. I think getting rid of the white break would make me more inclined to browse through people instead of only going through those that have already liked me. I don’t think it would cause people to click through too quickly but at the very least, giving the option of a dark mode would be a big help.
  • International scammers and prostitutes re-creating new profiles daily

The app is full of prostitutes and international scammers re-creating their profiles daily, while Hinge knows and does nothing. I’ve reported the same profiles dozens of times and they won’t fix it at all. You know why? Because they decided to let everyone move their profiles around after the pandemic. If you - as a paid user - choose to set your distance as a dealbreaker, people who live outside of that distance will not show up. HOWEVER, people from anywhere in the world who set their profile locations to be inside of your match radio us can bypass that “dealbreaker” with Hinge’s permission. That means you’re paying for a feature that they are allowing international scammers to bypass with ease. Hinge knows these people are thousands of miles away, and Hinge knows what “dealbreaker” means. They’re ripping you off on a feature so they can allow international scammers to rip you off, too. They are endangering their user base, and won’t do anything to stop it. And since they’ve clearly known for some time, it’s fair to say that they are quite possibly running a few of these scam accounts. Be careful, and do not pay for any “dealbreakers” if Hinge isn’t going to deliver on their advertising and promise to the users.
  • Hinge USED to be good

Where did my first review go? Did it get removed? Hinge used to be great, had lots of matches and conversations. Then they went the route of Tinder and Bumble, just ruined themselves for the money. I hope they rot.
  • Used to be great, now it’s terrible

Tl;dr Hinge has focused more on profit and not at all on improving user experience I’ve been using hinge on and off for the last few years. Initially it was a great app that offered better parameters to find a partner. Now it is an absolute mess. I have reported multiple profiles for selling sexual favors and or onlyfans type content. IF I wanted something like that I would go somewhere else for it, not hinge. An easy work around would be to offer profile verification to ensure the person in the picture is actually the person typing. The amount of likes in a day has been SIGNIFICANTLY limited to single digits A while back I had requested a refund, but was met with automated callers and walls. Very lackluster app over all, tinder is becoming a better choice.
  • Glitch Since App Update

This is my second or third time on hinge, and this experience is completely different than others! Before, it was as others describe “close the flood gates”. Non stop messages and likes. This time around, not so much. It started that way when I deleted my old profile and opened a new one after a solid week with not one like. I contacted hinge support to inquire of a glitch, and they assured me everything was good on their end. Customer service was top notch and they restored my roses and boosts from my previous profile *thank you again*. However, now we are back to not receiving likes. I am not traditional in that the man must make the first move. I’ve been sending messages and likes, in particular to a few of the profiles Hinge suggests we are compatible, and nothing. It’s truly disheartening when this app was so popular for being “for people seeking serious relationships”. Not sure what changed, but Hinge is not what it used to be. When my subscription is up, I’ll be closing the account. My suggestion, all dating apps are the same. If you’re able to get out and meet someone the old fashioned way, try that. Best of luck!
