It was exciting as a free app. Then, I paid for the subscription and it’s disappointing. I guessed all the features I wanted would come as part of the paid subscription. It doesn’t. First, the app is fine for desktops and laptops. Only half those features are in the mobile version. Had I known it’s barebones for mobile, I would not have bothered at all. I do most of my to-do on my tablet, including phone calls, messages, errands, and emails. Tablets are the glue that holds my day, tasks, and projects together. Second, reminders are a pop-up that doesn’t “pop” on my watch or rings. I’ve missed two important webinars because I relied on the reminders I setup in Todoist and wasn’t looking at a screen. Last, the calendar is buggy. If my wording mistakenly takes me to a date in 2028, I should at least be able to click “today” to return to this year. Nope, I must scroll back thru the months. Conclusion, the reality is the top 10 apps are equivalent minus a few preferences, on a desktop or laptop. But how many people walk the hallways, gym, park, or grocery stores with them especially checking their to do list? For now, wasted money watching a to-do-list repeat itself until my subscription expires. Guess which device I’m using to write this review.

I love this app! It helps me get more done! I love that I can set reminders and add a widget to my home screen that allows me to check off tasks as I complete them! I also get reminders and push notifications as well which helps alot!!

I have started using this with my wife and it has already been helpful. We use shared lists alto add tasks for each other and to view the things we need to accomplish together. We also have our own separate lists we use. Very simple and intuitive. Clean design. I really love it already! Definitely something you should look into!

I do not like this because it makes you pay and it sends you a lot of emails and it is annoying

You need to pay to get notifications. Might as well use notes or the reminder app

I have been using Todoist for about 8 years. Not only does it allow me to organize todo lists, it also is a go-to tool to track notes, insights and often my calendar.
  • Missing important feature

This application does a great job with task management. But it’s missing a major feature. It must be launched and running in the background to use quick entry or to receive notifications. There should be a helper file running in the background at all times, even when the main app is not running so that no notifications are missed and quick entry is available.

Lots of bells and whistles you'll never need. Apple Reminder app is way more intuitive. I can just tell it what to do and it does it through Siri. I tried to figure out how to use todoist and it was not worth the effort. I wasted $45
