  • Great game, completely inaccessible without money.

    I would like to start by saying this game plays great. The way you have to actually flick and spin the board like how you would use your feet while actually skating is very intuitive. The problem is that nearly all the cosmetics, progression, other maps, and other features, are all locked behind paywalls or endless hours of grinding. And I do really mean endless. This takes so long because the only way you can get points for buying things is by either doing trick lines or paying money. And they really aren’t generous with the free points either. One 30 second trick line will net you ~10-20 points while one map costs 200,000 so even assuming you are doing a successful trick line literally on the dot every time it would take you 83 hours of play time. And with many purchasable maps you’re looking at years of playing before you start to have different diverse parks. Overall if you want a simple good skating game this is it but keep in mind you’ll probably only ever skate one map and all the cool extra features in the game like custom parks and character customization are no joke locked behind a payed subscription. 2/5 cuz greedy

    The title says it. Ive played true skate for almost a decade now, and its just annoying that all the live challenges, all custom maps - anything involving the warehouse setting crashes immediately. Would love to change my review if this gets fixed.

    I've been playing this game off and on since 2018 and have played many of its competitors (namely Touch Grind) and True Skate is by far the best skateboarding game on iOS. It is comparable to Session and Skate. It also doesn't hound you with ads if you don't buy anything. I bought all of the parks in the past and they're worth the money if you really like the game. But if you don't have money the starter park is still fun and gives you a taste of everything. Easy to play, hard to master.

    True Skate is honestly one of the best mobile skating games ever made. The controls feel super smooth — flicking the board with your fingers actually feels like real skating, and every trick has that satisfying snap to it. The physics are crazy good too; the board reacts exactly how you’d expect, so landing tricks feels earned and really rewarding. The parks look amazing, with tons of ledges, rails, stairs, and creative lines to hit. Even the default park is fun, and once you get into the flow, it’s easy to spend hours just cruising around and stacking combos. The game also has a super addicting “just one more try” vibe. Mess up? Instantly respawn and try again. It keeps you in the zone the whole time. Customization is a big win too — changing your board, wheels, or grip adds that personal touch so it really feels like your setup. Plus, the replay system lets you watch your lines in smooth slow-mo, which makes your best tricks look even cooler. Overall, True Skate is an amazing skateboarding experience on mobile. It’s relaxing, satisfying, and super fun to master. If you like skating or even just chill games where you can improve your skills, this is 100% a must-play.

    I play this game religiously. Whenever I’m on a call or whenever I’m bored, in an area with no wifi. Just anywhere I can. It is my favorite iPhone game yet there are a couple issues with it. For one, I normally skate goofy so I switched my settings to goofy. However whenever I do tricks such as a frontside flip, it will strangely count it as a switch back heel. This is incredibly annoying in a game of skate when my opponent is regular and has complete control of their tricks. Ive had to play games of skate either in person or on call so I know that the trick I called has a whiteness if it says it’s not the right trick. The second thing also have to do with the game of skate. Whenever I ride off of a ledge or accidentally pop a little it counts tbat as my trick. A system in which it recognizes the trick you select and ends your turn if you do that said trick wrong is good but again it should analayze the flip and turn of the trick instead of counting the first pop as the actual return or setting trick. Overall tbis game is wonderful I love the hard progression with the bolts as it sort of references real life advancements. The customization aswel as price of the sandbox is comprehensible and enjoyable.
