Literally buy your voice actors instead of using a cheap robot to do your hard work.
  • 5 Minutes of Ads/ 5 Minutes of Programming

We were enjoying the Mighty Nein, and noticed that we were watching 5 minutes of ads to the same amount of programming. We stopped watching the program, and deleted Prime Video off our TV. If this is how you get people to pay for and ad free tier - think again. I won’t be watching anything more from Prime. I should have known better, especially after they canceled the Wheel of Time. Their video service is why I don’t use any other app - Music or Photos. If it wasn’t for their shopping and Kindle app, I wouldn’t use Amazon for anything…out of date, out of touch, and falling wall behind.

So I just started watching the anime Banana Fish on Prime. Come to find there’s a dub with AI. Other than the AI just sounding awful. There are so many voice actors they could’ve used and would’ve done a much better job. Amazon is $1 trillion And they have the audacity to be a bunch of cheapskates. Well, all that money they’re investing in this new AI program They could’ve probably spent just as much if less on having a voice acting studio. I just wonder who this dub was made for because it’s not made for fans of the anime and I can’t imagine people tuning in or going to enjoy the show watching it with the AI generated dub. A human voice actor will always be better than a machine.
  • Say no to AI slop

Recently Amazon has thought it’s been a good idea to release English and Spanish dubs of several anime shows (including Banana Fish, No Game No Life, Vinland Saga). Instead of doing the right thing and hiring ACTUAL voice actors to bring these characters to life, they chose to use AI models trained by stealing the voices of the original Japanese VAs to create soulless dubs of these series. The results sound horrible and it is obviously an attempt to save money by not paying actual humans to provide their voices for these characters. Jeff Bezos has enough money to pay actual actors and artists to provide accessibility features for those that need it. I’ll consider changing my review WHEN Amazon decides to move away from this horrible AI slop trend.

For a truly superb cinematic experience, Amazon Prime should consider creating a Vision Pro app.

I cannot believe a multi dollar company uses ai to dub anime’s. It is absolutely disgraceful to disregard the hard work that voice actors put into just to go on and replace them with ai.

I’ve never had a streaming platform that fails to work properly as often as Prime does. Not a service worth paying for.
  • Poor quality app

It doesn’t pick up where you left off all the time when you switch TVs. The TV application needs to be rebooted frequently. Leads to a poor user experience.
