  • Poor expense management

We were ordered to get this app by the courts. My ex was abusive and communication with him is difficult. The app is supposed to enable healthy communication monitoring. It doesn’t but that’s not why I am writing this review. The main issue I have with the app is how easy it is for a parent to refuse an expense. Even if the other parent is required to pay according to court documents all they have to do is deny the expense and OFW allows this with no oversight. I wish they would have a system where the each parent had to explain why they are denying or justifying the expense and have people review it. Another thing they allow is for one parent to refuse an expense, immediately create a new expense for a fraction of the amount owed, then pay the modified expense all within minutes and the original parent is just not paid the correct amount owed. An example of this is what my ex does repeatedly when I pay money on our kids school lunch account which he is supposed to pay half of. Let’s say I pay $50 on our kids lunch accounts, he is supposed to pay half. My ex will deny the expense and create a new expense for say $20, pay his half of $20 immediately and then there is nothing I can do even though I have receipts. The app allows and makes it easier for people to refuse expenses. There needs to be oversight.
  • Change messages to all by default pls

The messages always default to incoming only so you have to go directly to filter settings and change it to all messages to track ongoing conversations in order to read both sides. There isn’t an option to set the default behavior so you must do this every time. I am not blessed with a non-contentious divorce. A cordial one would not even need this app. Many debates have and will happen in the messages. Any small amount of stress relief from a good messaging app where a convo can be viewed quickly would be nice.

It’s so user unfriendly. The reporting function on expenses is awful as you can export data and it’s printed in a block of text. The notifications are awful. It notifies when your counter parent makes a change to something, but doesn’t tell you what the change is, so you have to figure it out on your own. OFW makes an already terrible parenting situation so much worse. I loathe the day that I was ordered to use this app.
  • Poorly designed for those in and out of service

To those of you that never leave the city and have no idea what it’s like out in the real world, cell phone service isn’t guaranteed. Sometimes I’m out of service or reception is very spotty. Plus I work In a multi-level facility of nothing but steel I-beams, concrete, and rebar and you almost have to be completely outside of the building to get a signal - Which is a small trek. I can’t do a single thing on this app or even log in without a connection to the internet. For me to have been forced to pay nearly $200 for a one year subscription to even try out this app which right off of the bat I’d noticed an issue like this is a complete joke. I have downloaded and used at the very least 200 apps since October 2009 when I first got my iPhone 3GS and I don’t believe I’ve ever bothered to write a review, either positive nor negative. Yet I’m writing one now for this. This is how much I DO NOT RECOMMEND you spend your hard earned money, and especially not that much of your hard earned money, just to try it and realized it’s a joke for how much of a user base it has. If the developers want to reach out to me in some way somehow that’s fine. But without the ability to look up and access any messages or files that I may have to refer back to and in a moment’s notice such as say a birthday party invitation I need to drop my son off at, let’s say, I won’t be satisfied. It needs to be able to be used offline. The “cloud” is a joke and is not an answer to everyone’s problems. It’s full of just as many holes as there are dead zones of reception.
  • Not worth any money let alone 150

I can’t believe this app can be court ordered. It’s glitchy and terrible. It’s not user friendly at all and if you have to have it for more than one co parent you have to make separate accounts and pay the 150 every time. And you have to log in and out of accounts every time you want to reply to a message. There should be a way to integrate accounts so you can just access the messages in one place.

This is a complete waste of money. There is an attorney at the end of this thing getting kickback, believe me. It’s basically just email. Nobody is going to pay their attorney to log in and sift through their communications. Total joke!

This app seems great however it requires you and the co parent to both pay every year to use it. There’s other apps out there that are free that offer the same things. Update: despite me overlooking some details and the company being able to keep my money due to my own negligence, they did refund me my money. To me that shows that they are legit and probably offer a solid product that will help a lot of people.
