  • Articles because ming ever more divisive

On students at York university complaining about ‘southerners ‘ making them feel estranged is absolute nonsense and made me very angry. Britain and its higher education system is open to all able to accomplish the necessary ‘A’ level grades. . Why are the northerners complaining as if it is their god given right to hold sway ? I’m appalled. I was a York university student in the late 70s and the delight was the huge mixture of regional accents yet the same focus of academic enquiry. Why create cultural divisions which are nothing but hostile and destructive to the nature of intellectual pursuit.

Thanks goodness the Guardian exists. Those smart guys in Manchester all those years ago must have known that the world doesn’t really ever change and that Peterloo wasn’t a one time event.

Unlike the major US news media, the Guardian reports are trustworthy and credible.

Every morning with my cup of tea, I open The Guardian for world news. I have come to rely on the reporting particularly now when so many US news outlets have been compromised.

I am the father of a daughter that is 42 years old yet people think she is at least 10 years younger. That appearance is not due to too much make up but the good fortune of her skin health and possibly genetics. Like too many women, she is still vulnerable to other people‘s perceptions about her body image. She has always loved running, but the basis for the exercise was the joy of athletics. Now, an extra and possibly dominant reason for running is to maintain an “ acceptable” body appearance in addition to cardiovascular and muscular health. Luckily, this parent takes pride that his daughter tries to be good to others including your parents.
  • The Guardian is a great bastion of journalism

Mainstream media is getting increasingly more concentrated and editorially constrained by their corporate oligopoly corporate ownership and we need to support outlets like the Guardian. They are still doing investigative journalism, and they haven’t bent a knee to the aspiring fascist. And the writing isn’t dumbed down.

I am an 82 year old retired international investment banking professional, who cut his teeth on the Economist, the international Herald tribune and the Wall Street Journal. I believe the guardian provides the most comprehensive, and unbiased news reporting in the world, followed by BBC, Reuters, and not much else Thanks. Keep it up!

I was happy to use the app to read up on any news, but I was forced to create an account AND pay for a subscription after reading a number of articles. You guys are asking for support like it’s optional, not really optional. Very disappointed
  • Can’t read stories anymore

I don’t know when this became a requirement, but I’m not signing in or creating an account so that Big Brother can monitor the news stories I read. If you can’t accept that, I’ll get my news elsewhere.

As an American, I enjoy turning to the Guardian to get news, opinions, and a fresh perspective from a source other than news outlets in the U.S. Keep doing your good work, and don’t lose hope or patience with us over here.
