  • No landscape?

When I was younger … I would of ditched the trib because the app took away landscape. Now … l just hope that every one of the trib subscribers would give up their subscription because of that.

  • The app is unusable

Reading a simple article top to bottom is nearly impossible. There are so many ads, videos and popups that interfere with anything resembling a decent user experience.
  • Web articles trigger paywall

When the app calls the web for an article, the paywall pops up. I am a digital subscriber so this should not happen. Very disruptive and i am thinking about canceling if I cannot access the content I pay for.

This app used to be fairly decent. After recent updates, the app is almost unusable. As a paid subscriber, the pop up ads are incessant, and in certain situations unable to be closed. This brings me to my second point. The app no longer works in landscape mode, only portrait. This is extremely frustrating as I use the app on an iPad with a case that works best in landscape. Also, there appears to be a banner that pops up that can’t be closed because the “X” is now off screen…
  • The standard has been lowered

I’m a paid subscriber. I still get told (within the app that I am logged into) that I have reached my limit if articles to read. The screen frequently resets while I’m reading an article, sending me to the top of the article and leaving me to find my way back down. When this happens several times in the same article, I no longer wish to read your article. The most egregious is the pop up videos that have recently started popping up mid article. They take over the entire screen, which is quite annoying. The Trib used to be a newspaper worthy of recognition. It was a brand that we trusted for quality and truth.
  • Even with subscription spams ads

I have a subscription to the Tribune but even then it spams me with full screen video ads, every 1/4 page of article I scroll. The quality of articles have also gone down hill past few years, but it’s still the best source of local news. But the ad spamming makes me want to give up reading it.

  • App fails to recognize subscription

I pay $19.99 a month through Apple for a Tribune subscription. Nevertheless, I periodically get blocked from reading articles, and the app shows an obnoxious “you’ve reached your free market limit” message. I keep the app up to date and I’m tired of dealing with this, so I’m going to cancel and get my local news elsewhere.
  • COMMERCIALS

On some articles I have commercials pop up. Why? I paid for subscription not ads
