    App “boots” to the splash screen showing “Wall Street Journal” and goes no further.

    How is it possible that reading articles in the WSJ app can burn through batteries 72% faster than playing games or watching videos on YouTube? Want to read Wall Street Journal articles on your train ride to Wall Street? You can’t any more because the app no longer downloads pictures or charts. Reading the app a few days in a row now turns your iPad into a frying pan. The new navigation now takes up 25% of the screen in landscape. Customer service won’t answer emails if you encounter a technical defect. The story I really want to read in WSJ is how one of the world’s largest media organizations has been unable to recover from such a disastrous redesign after more than a year of trying. You went from a 4.9 rating to 1.2. No other newspaper in the world offers the quality of WSJ reporting. It’s long past time for the tech team to stop letting everyone else down.

    Can you make back button remain fixed on scroll ? I go thru dozens of articles daily Every time to go out of the article, i have to scroll to find the back button Doing that 100 times a day is very annoying I can’t figure out logic behind hiding the back button 8-10-25

  • Issues with save articles

    On the iPhone when you go to save articles, there’s two giant tabs one for recommended and one for save but when you click on either one, nothing happens something is going on with the UI. Please update it so I can find my saved particles. I can randomly find them if I come across an article that I had saved the little save mark is there, but the section with all the articles is not there.

  • Navigation Bar and Saved Articles

    Yet again, WSJ is changing their app, and yet again they make it significantly worse. Why put the navigation bar at the bottom of the page? Does anyone at the WSJ actually use their app on an iPad? Putting the back button on the lower left is possibly the worst location to put it - ie exactly where I (and I suspect most users) tend to hold my iPad. Also, what is happening with Saved Articles? The app is displaying articles I saved and subsequently unsaved months ago. Every time I refresh the page, I get a completely different list of previously saved (and then read and unsaved) articles. I have to tap around other sections of the app several times before my current list of saved articles finally appears.

    Seriously, WSJ was one of the best apps to navigate news. It’s all gone. Horrible design. What problem were you guys trying to solve? Will cancel subscription and look for something better now. Why are you guys so stubborn and don’t go back to the previous version. Do you read all the feedbacks? Only 1 stars and cancellations. This is killing your business. This is your BudLight moment. Literally every review is negative since the change. When do they fire management! Update: The print version was reversed to the previous style. Well done. One annoyance, the return button moved to the lower left now? No more comfortable navigation with all buttons on the top, now you have to move your thumb awkwardly to the lower left every time you go back. Seriously, is anybody testing those changes?

  • Random changing layout and features

    I like the news, but recent app “updates” are terrible. The layout has changed. The order of sections has changed. Even worse now is the need to separately access the broader sections instead of simply being able to swipe to see the top headline of the next section. Please bring back the more efficient layout. Putting the navigation at the bottom is not effective either. What happened?
