    This app doesn't give many options before wanting a subscription to view more local profiles! To me it seems like a lot of older users not exactly sure what the changes would be if I upgraded my profile but seems like not much really worth seeing this app isn't the best hopefully someone will come out with a better version with more accounts to view because options are limited on this platform

  • Checks your location when you’re not on the app

    On multiple occasions, I have had the app completely closed out on my phone yet. I'm still getting the sound notification that my location is being updated. Why do you need my location update when my app is closed I'm not using it and then when I open the app. It tells me that I can't locate my location, because I put my settings to only locate me when the app is open and I am actively on it. so why are you checking my location when the app is completely closed huge privacy issue in my opinion

    I have been using this as a unlimited PAYING MEMBER for about 6 months now and in the past 6 months I have been suspended or banned for absolutely no reason because on this app if someone does not like you all they have to do is click a button to report you that’s all it takes for you to get suspended or banned then you as the paying member has to go back-and-forth through email forever to get answers. They have banned me and suspended my account four or five times each time I wait and wait until they finally respond and fix my account, this time I’ve gotten no response they will not give a response or any feedback of what happened two or three days into the month after they got their $40 and now I’m stuck with nothing so please pass this around social media as I am going to so people are aware of this and if you read other reviews you will see others saying the same thing

  • “Last Seen” disappeared

    First you take away grid Distance in explore searches (even on specific profiles it only says “near” a certain city). Why?? Any user can elect to turn this off individually if they don’t want their distance shown. Now with this last update April 17, 2024 you take away “last seen” in the grid, unless you drill into a user’s profile - doesn’t matter if a user is down the block or across the country. Why?? How could “last seen” be viewed as a feature that must be taken away. You just keep making it less and less useful.

    This app is virtually unusable post recent upgrades. I pay top dollar for a premium experience and in return I get extreme glitching, slow/weird interface, and numerous failed message delivery. Its insane how bad and unusable this is and somehow Im still paying for this experience…I will be unsubscribing imminently.

    Never been on a dating app with such intrusive ads. Its truly disgusting to be so money hungry you need to put an ad after every time you check a message. Every time I open the app I immediately am reminded why I dont use it

    Every upgrade (every 2-3 weeks, why?!?!) makes this app more complicated, more “heavy” (it’s already 200mb!) and hard to launch, and I’m talking about my newest latest iPhone with 512Gb of memory! I can only imagine what experiencing guys with not powerful basic Android phones. I remember those days about 10-15 years ago, when Grindr was very intuitive, very fast, with minimum advertising and animation and, what’s the most important - it did exactly the same job as today. Shame on you, greedy developers, who trying to put advertising and other stupid options literally between each message! Would you please stop already and make it really easy to use so it won’t overloading the RAM of our phones? Every time I need to restart this app 2-3 times before it gets responsive. And I have plenty of free memory on my phone and only this app open, nothing else in the background so I know what I’m talking about. Resume: terrible service, terrible developers and greedy owner. All we need in this app is just to send or receive a photo or a message and that’s it!!! Leave for yourself expiring photos, stupid taps, premium accounts with invisible stuff and etc. I understand, you need money to run this app then just make it a paid app with basic options just STOP OVERLOADING THE APP!

    The app no longer reliably sends messages. You may not find out for hours that your message didn’t actually send. Messages sometimes just disappear when I hit send. I no longer receive notifications when I get messages. I get messages that are hours old. The attempts to get me to tap on things I don’t want to buy are nearly fraudulent. The only way to get past many of the ads is to shut the app and restart. I have to do this every time I open the app. Ads now interrupt you right in the middle of messaging with someone. The app get worse with every update.

    The app has always been buggy, but the problems this year have been a new level of terrible. Starting in February, I would get constant errors and undeliverable chats. Seemed to be in due part the cloud migration. Finally seemed to be settling down recently, but now Facebook doesn’t work as a login anymore, meaning years of chats and favorites are down the toilet. Was able to get a refund fairly quickly from the App Store, so that’s a benefit. Grindr has made social media posts acknowledging that the Facebook login is broken, but no updates, and it’s been over a week at this point. The help desk is probably AI and won’t give actual responses to queries. Begging for an alternate app that actually has a widespread user base. Wishing we could as a community just move on from this dumpster.
