I don’t understand if indeed has downsized but their app and website is now running the worst I’ve seen! It will say 400 jobs poster within 24 hours and then only show me 20, also it won’t allow me to extend my range from 25 miles to 35 miles

Indeed markets itself as the best place to find a job. In reality it is a landfill of fake postings, staffing agency bait, and resume harvesting scams. Most of the jobs are either reposted endlessly, already filled, or never real to begin with. You can apply to hundreds of roles and never hear a single word back. No rejection. No update. Nothing. Just silence while the same listings magically reappear week after week. Staffing agencies completely overrun the platform. They post vague jobs with no company name, no salary, and no real details, just enough to collect your personal information and ghost you afterward. Entry level jobs demand five to ten years of experience. Salaries are misleading or straight up missing. The “easy apply” feature is a lie. It does not make employers respond faster. It just makes it easier for Indeed to farm resumes and pad application counts so companies can claim “high interest.” Notifications are useless. Job matches are wildly inaccurate. Searching feels like shouting into the void while Indeed pushes paid promotions and resume services that do nothing to improve your chances. Indeed does not care about job seekers. It cares about volume, ads, and selling access to desperate people. There is no quality control, no accountability, and no transparency. If you value your time or sanity, avoid this app. One star only because zero stars is not an option.
  • Gets worse & worse

I haven’t been able to complete a single application in months because there’s a loop in which, before I’m done with all the steps, the app refreshes and restarts the application. The same thing occurs on any iOS browser, where I’ve tried applying through indeed in at least five of them. I’ve written to indeed several times complaining about it to no avail (“Having issue with this application? Tell us more” don’t bother, it’s useless). What’s worse, most jobs aren’t even real. You can send in hundreds of applications and not hear back from any of them.
  • AI is ruining job hunting

A couple years ago I was able to confidently get in-person interviews with regularity when I would look for better work outside my current job, but with the same resume, with multiple years at the same location, I get either radio silence or clearly automated rejection emails sent immediately after applying. I simply cant trust a human being has seen my resume since 2023, and Indeed has fully embraced AI itself so I have no faith in this app anymore. It got me almost every job Ive ever had and now its useless. Uninstalled.
  • Failing App

Wow!! I have so much to say but I’ll keep it simple. Problems with being flagged somehow and never getting an employer to review my resume. I used to have good luck??? But now I apply for hundreds of jobs and cannot get anywhere with anything. If you fill out a review and barely swipe down, you’ll lose all of the reverie and start over. Overall this is only the a small piece of the problem and won’t waste anymore time with explaining or using it. Better to just know where you want to apply and go to their direct website. This is useless nowadays

Business owners beware Horrible for job seekers I actually had an employee text me and about 50 other job seekers and every single person in that text now has my phone number. Callers aren’t American but you WILL not be able to speak to a person it’s gonna send you to the line for job seeker and it’s just gonna tell you to go on the computer and deal with AI Oh, by the way, if you do get anybody to answer the phone, they’re gonna be in another country so I found out today that if you just keep insisting that you speak to an American they’re gonna keep arguing back with you because in an AI world the customers never right why else would a company put AI before their customers? The lady had me I had to continuously spell things because they’re higher than all these people and these all the countries but yet they’re still charging us full prices for stuff. So apparently if you just keep saying the words I want to speak to an Americans I want to speak to an American supervisor I want to speak to a supervisor in America. They’ll eventually stop arguing with you. I was able to get in touch with someone because I lied and said that I was the business that was providing the job and as a job seeker, I shouldn’t have to do all of that to get in touch with someone about my
