  • After six months follow up

This is a follow up go my prior review at six months in. I have changed my stars to one. Here’s why: Premium is expensive and you don’t truly get the features they say you do. It’s true you can message anyone, even, free members. However, free members can’t read or reply unless they decide the email telling them they have a message is worth paying for Premium. Or you pay for a feature called Reply for Free “in addition” to the Premium you already paid for. Pretty darned clever money making scheme they have there. I have edited my profile six ways to Sunday and I still get the exact same people Match has shown me since day one. Supposedly, Match has millions of members so why is that? AND why are so many of the men I’m seeing those who haven’t been on for weeks or months. I know this is true because of the dots- they don’t have any at all. Also, if I sort by “last on date,” these men show up at the bottom of the search. Because I’d like to talk to them, I’ve been using two men as test subjects. They show up in every search I do- one man has gotten on and now has a dot. The other hasn’t been on in the five months I’ve tracked him. So I “liked” him and sent him a message. His Premium has expired so if Match sent him an email saying he had a Like, he hasn’t decided the cost for Premium was worth seeing who sent that Like. I don’t blame him, if I were done with Match I wouldn’t either. All the above gives me the impression that you take the compatibility quiz in the beginning and then Match uses that exclusively in picking your matches. This would explain why, no matter how I edit my requirements, I get the same profiles over and over again even after saying I’m not interested. Last week I asked Match’s cs how I can retake the compatibility quiz without deleting my account and making a new one. If I delete my account to start over I would get different matches, true. But I would also be throwing away the money I spent on Premium for my current account. Plus, I would need to buy Premium again for the new account-I believe this is why Match operates the way they do. Cs answered the other question in my email while ignoring this question completely, which is odd because it comprised the bulk of my email so it’s not as if they could have missed it. End result is one star. Unless you have money to burn or aren’t picky about your possibilities, I recommend trying something else first. ORIGINAL: I’m sixty, in case that makes a difference. This is also a review of the web version. You take a quiz, that you can never change, retake, or even review. Based on that it sends you people they think you should see and no one else ever. I have seen the same profiles no matter which search I use or how much I change what I’m looking for. Web version show almost 2k and app only 25. 2k, wow you say. Nope. 80 percent of those haven’t been on in months-& they still highlight them for me. Another 8 percent have not one of the things I chose except that they don’t smoke. The remaining two percent are mostly scary looking or have one pic and have written nothing about themselves at all, so scammers? So for 5 months I’ve talked to four people and met three. One was flat out scary, one asked for naked pics the night of the day we met, one was actually nice but too needy. Still, from all I’ve talked to about dating sights this is the best of the lot. And I do know one couple who met on Match and have been together about nine years now. Bumble is more expensive and has less features.
  • Logged/Blocked out of my account and No Response

I’ve been logged out twice from my account, they asked for verification and when I put my information it says that is incorrect and send me to create a ticket. I’ve submitted more than 6 tickets and I have still not received a response. I tried to chat with someone and it says I’m logged out of my account, no kidding! Again. I still have not been able to reach someone and I’m afraid there are 2 profiles there of me with my information and I’m not even logged in.

Regardless of parameters you set in preferences, ALL profiles shown are far outside the distance and age parameters set.
  • This App Is a SCAM

As the title says: I’ve had this app a month- have 11 “likes” waiting and haven’t been shown any in my daily suggestions. What do I mean: 11 women have selected me as someone they want to talk to, but not a single one of these women have come up in the swipe stack for me. Even if they were all women I had rejected or not “liked”, I’d be able to tell the app was sharing them with me as the waiting “likes” number decreased as I rejected them. And it’s not a matter of there being too many people- I’ve run out of prospective matches several times, meaning the population of women who have apparently liked me are blocked from showing up in my swipe stack. I have realized this app does not actually support any free functional use- in order to access likes you have to pay. AVOID!!!!
  • No access to Paid Subscription

I can not seem to verify my account, even though I literally just paid for a subscription. I reached out to customer service, no helpful response. Oh yeah, the only customer service they have includes sending in a form and an email, no love agents. Totally bummed about this! 😢

This site is horrible. Scammers on top of scammers. With fake profiles. DONT GET IT
  • Turn off in app ad banners!

The latest version of this app adds in a-p match banners blocking the view of profiles trying to strong arm paying customers into spending more $$$ Nothing has changed. It’s simple. Remove advertising banners that block the screen view. This is abusive.

Good luck getting in touch with customer service to try and dispute a charge. It’s a voice recording. If you cancel your subscription, make sure you don’t delete the cancellation email (I accidentally did when purging messages). You are going to need it when taking it up with your credit card or PayPal.
  • Membership levels misleading and disingenuous

After having been a member for much longer than I intended, I have to say that the dating site has certainly changed a lot recently. You’re offered three different membership levels (platinum, silver, & bronze) but if you purchase anything but Match’s most expensive membership option (platinum), you’ll receive nothing like the Match experiences that you would have experienced in previous updates. In your searches, you may receive hundreds of Match profiles to view but only the first five or so will be visible (the rest will be blurred out and unopenable). WHATS THE POINT!!! Match no longer appears to be trying to MATCH you up with someone compatible. Sure, the company (like other companies) should thrive to make a profit but how about doing so by offering what it promises for what their customers have compensated them for.
