    I believe that once I’ve paid, I’m entitled to working services. Unfortunately, my Android app refuses to stop crashing on load. So, I cancelled the subscription, therefore I no longer need the app on my iPhone either. Deleted. Get this POS together! 🤦🏽‍♂️

    although the basic app works OK, I find the advertising critically annoying. It’s hard to scroll through any article without accidentally clicking on some gigantic ad. Forget about watching any video unless you want to sit through a 15 second ad for something you had no interest in buying It’s a pity really because the rest of the product is reasonable. It has an annoying tendency to lose where you were when you come back to an article . They are just getting too greedy on the advertising and now trying to split the product into smaller and smaller pieces you have to buy as a bundle if you want access to the news

    This is the first app review I have ever written. I am taking the time to work through some of my deep frustration with the most recent update that integrates what was the Times Audio app with the standard Times app. I have been a frequent and enthusiastic user of both of these and understand the reason why NYT might want them integrated but my experience has been TERRIBLE. The audio portion crashes and stalls constantly and makes it very difficult to organize my listening experience. The old Audio app was seamless and this is just driving me crazy. I am about to search for alternate ways to listen to NYT podcasts before I give up on them altogether b/c I just don’t have the patience for this nonsense. Seeing as people often listen to NYT podcasts on the go (in cars, on subways, etc.) I imagine I’m not the only frustrated user. Get it right folks!!

  • The most user-hostile app on my phone

    I hate this app so much. I would never use it except that it forces me off the webpage when I try to read a story there. Why? Because when I click into the app, it sends me to a user page on the Internet and then it asks me to click on a button to go into the app. Then when I go into the app, this story I was originally trying to read doesn’t load. In fact, it may have to go through anywhere between two and five redirects. Then I have to go back to the home page and search through all the stories until I find the one I was originally reading. And that story is usually buried somewhere. Does that make sense to you? The Times tries to lure me in with stories that might interest me in my email, When I click on one of those stories, I have to go through this useless waste of time I previously described to try to find the story on the app. I’m sure that someone from the Times will probably ask me to contact you and help me troubleshoot what is going on here. Perhaps I will avail myself of that option. I would prefer, however, that you address this with your tech team upfront. I am sure I am not the only iPhone user who is also a Times subscriber with this problem. I hate it so much I would consider surrendering my decades-long subscription.
