  • Should not require iOS 18 to even open app

I have iOS 17.7.10 and my iPad works perfectly well. I should absolutely not have to buy a new iPad to use the NYT app. It’s not rocket science, it’s a news-reading app. Whatever your ‘new features’, they are not worth paying an exorbitant price for a new iPad. My current NYT app should still work, but the app will not allow it. This is absurd. A bullying tactic by Apple, which they couldn’t pull off without the cooperation of NYT. Zero stars.

    By it's you?
Up to the minute news well researched and very well written. They are justifiably role models for newspapers around the country.

The NYtimes is my favorite news app, and I love the games. Me and my dad play the games every day, and it’s really bonded us. Thank you for creating the thing that’s helps us connect.

I keep getting logged out of my NYTimes account linked to my Apple ID. It’s very frustrating as I have tons of story saved on that one account that I need access to.
  • Real News

So many media sources are focused on entertaining rather than informing. Others appear to be focused on selling lies to people to get or keep power. Even though I don’t always agree with their opinions, The New York Times consistently covers the news in an honest and unbiased way.

I love NY Times since they are the first to report breaking news and they have articles that cover every topic I am interested in and more. App is perfect. I love the interface and ease either which I can always find articles on the topics I am interested in.

  • Great app hamstrung by awful owners

Such a pity that the NYT is undermined by its terrible ownership. The average NYT reporter and app developer is a testament to everything great in this country but their efforts are made a mockery of by the people above them.
  • Terrible coverage of higher ed

The NYT remains a necessary institution. But its coverage of higher education is so systematically hostile and unbalanced that I read it while pinching my nose. Best not to read anything with a Hartocollis byline; it will be a pure hit job.
