  • For a major publisher it feels like one of the money-grab light novel apps

I downloaded this app to read Gachiakuta, used all my free points and actually bought a pack of points to keep reading, but then I realized that there were missing features (writer interviews, &c.) and pages. Not only that but the way to unlock chapters is really inconsistent and confusing.

Tip top app for manga. Always the first one I open when looking for something new or different to start. Can’t recommend it enough
  • Ticket system

I do not fully understand the ticket system yet but I would love more opportunities to unlock more
  • Please adopt subscription model

I’m a fan of the catalog and how reading the pages feel natural but what I truly can’t stand that keeps me from the app is the point system. The tickets are mostly inoffensive, you get lots of free ones and it feels reasonable, but the points are egregious! I got this app to read Versus as I’m a huge ONE fan, but after 5 chapters it’s no longer tickets and the points required to reach each chapter is the equivalent of 5 dollars after that! I understand not every series has this high of a threshold, I may still comeback for Vinland saga and gachiakuta but as it is now I will not, I much prefer how Shonen jump does it with there 5 dollars a month or Marvel unlimited with a subscription having access to the entire manga. Would not currently recommend this app.

  • Doesn’t work

I get an endless error loop when I try to accept the privacy policy, so I can’t use the app. I’ve restarted the app 4 times and it still doesn’t work.
  • The points suck!!!!

This app is good if you’re rich, or you are only reading 1 manga on the app. Otherwise, it’s not worth it at all. There is a stupid point system and it’s not that bad until you catch up with manga’s, like if your caught up with 2 manga’s you either have to be 3 chapters behind because the latest 3 chapters cost 99 points, or pay 99 points. And I am not going to watch a million adds just so I can read 1 chapter. LIKE JUST MAKE A SUBSCRIPTION!!!!! Manga apps dont have to be different, like just make a fricking subscription it’s not that hard 😭
  • Double charges

While the content is great you do have to watch out for double charges if you purchase points through the app. I’ve been double charged multiple times. Fortunately it isn’t too difficult to report it on the Apple card. I purchase my points through the wwb site now, hopefully I won’t have to deal with double charges there.
  • Disrespectful Censorship

I thought about giving them a shot but once i saw that they shamelessly censor pages without the consent to the creator, i was very disappointed. People are paying money to see these chapters too and this is slapping readers in the face. I can’t recommend K manga to people, knowing they can abuse their power.
  • Great Manga—Not a GACHA Fan

I’m very thankful that Kodansha is giving Shonen Jump a run for their money; that being said, I’m not as enthused about the GACHA mechanics employed within. I much prefer Shonen Jump’s monthly subscription and 100-chapter per day limit. Despite the GACHA mechanic, I do appreciate that purchased chapters are available in perpetuity (at least as far as this writing—these days, who knows how long that will last). If you’re a fan of anime and manga, and you wanna read Fire Force, Windbreaker, and Tokyo Revengers, among other Kodansha hits, download this app.
