  • Fantastic App – A Worthy Paprika Alternative

I was a long-time Paprika user and loved the one-time purchase model, but I was looking for something that made it easier to share recipes with family. That’s when I discovered Umami, thanks to a Reddit recommendation—and I’m so glad I gave it a try. This app has exceeded all my expectations. It’s incredibly easy to import recipes, and sharing entire recipe books with family and friends has been seamless. I’ve even exported books in multiple formats with no hassle. Everything just works the way you’d hope it would. What really sets Umami apart, though, is the developer. Not only is he incredibly helpful and kind, but he’s also been quick to respond to feedback. I’ve suggested a couple of features and was amazed to see them implemented in short order. It’s rare to find this level of responsiveness and care. I can’t say enough good things about both the app and the developer. If you’re looking for a powerful, one-time purchase recipe manager with real sharing features, Umami is the one to get.

i usually don't leave reviews but i wanted to this time. one-time lifetime payment for such a useful app is an easy decision. i've only been using it for a day and i can tell i'll be paying it. easy user interface for copying/pasting my recipes in my notes app and creating new ones from websites. i'm looking forward to using all the other features

I’ve been using this app for a few months now, importing all my recipes. I love how sleek it is and how easy it is to take a photo of my recipes and the text scans in. Really excited to see what the developers adds onto it!
  • Import function not operational

I downloaded this because the one time fee was nice instead of subscription base, but it can’t import recipes from social media or web browser. Seems broken and if you happen to get it to import it’s the article, the full article and not the recipe. I’d try the free trial before jumping in.

I been using this app a few months and been using it constantly. I was paying for monthly first before I was gonna commit to buying the app. Then one random day I wasn’t able to import recipes.I had a weird issue where it acted like I didn’t have a subscription. I emailed the developer of the app Jeff. Jeff promptly responded to my emails and was professional. In the end my issue has been resolved! I love this app and recommend it to anyone who wants a way to organize their recipes!!! Great app and great customer service!

It’s been 12 hours. To say I love this app is an understatement. I’ve uploaded close to 50 recipes. Super easy to use. Importing is extremely easy. Editing and customizing recipes is easy. Developer replied quickly to a question I asked via email.

Moved all my recipes here from older app and haven't regretted it for a sec. Paid the one time lifetime membership- which is a bargain as I can share with hubby, daughter and sister. Works well on my laptop, phone and echo show (this was critical for me)! Clean, clear visuals - especially love the 'cooking' mode. Easy to upload from most sites and manual copying is not difficult when site not supported. It's a keeper!

If you save recipes from blogs, online cookbooks or social media, this app is what you want. Copy the URL link and the app imports it in traditional recipe format

I love Umami. It’s been so easy to scan recipes or add by link. I love being able to share recipes with folks and that I can add people to my subscription - particularly when my partner makes dinner. It’s also been really helpful for me to make grocery lists!
