  • I hate that this app is good.

I have been on a months-long quest to find an acceptable terminal app that I can actually own instead of rent. Unfortunately, every other option I tried (Termius was second-best) has dealbreaking flaws of one kind or another. Blink does not. It has flaws, but no dealbreakers. It also has several excellent and very useful day-to-day features that no other terminal app I have tried manages to implement all at once, and a few really good UI ideas I've never seen in a mobile terminal before. It's *relatively* stable for a mobile terminal app, the screen drawing issues aren't *usually* bad enough to force me to close the app and start over—a low bar, but no other app consistently meets it. And it feels and works remarkably like a NORMAL TERMINAL instead of somebody's fever dream of what the Terminal of the Future should be. The business model disgusts me. The *instant* I hear of an acceptable mobile terminal with an ethical business model, I will switch. I really hope I can do that before I need to pay next year's terminal rent. Two stars.
  • Terrible pricing system

The point isn’t that its cheap you deaf tone dev, the point is that I don’t feel like I actually own the software because if it is a bit over a dollar a month, I still am just leasing the software for a basic terminal. Let me buy it so then you can make improvements and then let me buy blink 2 or 3 or 4. Not an SaaS for a flipping terminal i may use once or twice a month
  • Family sharing went bonkers

My sons wanted to use my subscription for their studies on their iPads and it’s just not working. The app developer promised to honor Family Sharing. But they don’t. Don’t say you were not warned.
  • Fraud - AVOID

Blink is a fraud committed by a dishonest developer. Paid for one-time license that simply vanished.
  • Quite literally a scam

In no uncertain terms I need the reader of this review to understand this company straight up scammed its users. We paid for a lifetime subscription, and now we can’t use the app unless we pay for a trial. DO NOT USE THIS APP. IF THEY DID IT ONCE THEY WILL DO IT AGAIN. DO NOT THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY AND SUPPORT DEVELOPERS WITH A SHRED OF INTEGRITY.
  • Can’t use without activating trial

Unable to use the application without enabling the free trial, which turns on the billing after two weeks so if you forget to turn that off, then you’re stuck with a subscription. There seems to be a no cost for the older features, but can’t seem to activate that without doing the trial.
  • Scummy bait and switch

I paid $20 for this. Well now I don’t have access as this now requires a subscription! Shame on you for not grandfathering your users who supported you! If you are thinking about this, avoid and install a-shell mini
  • Beware of this developer

Paid money for the full version and these crooks took it and went to a subscription model without bothering to compensate in any way. Disgusting business practice.
  • Hard paywalls extremely annoying

I’ve seen this app recommended various places but the hard paywall really put me off. Just going to keep using termius.
  • Best shell for pros

Initially, I didn’t expect I can just import .ssh/config and it works out of the box. This is the killing feature driving me to switch from Termius. Then I discovered more useful features, like local vim editor and port forwarding. It runs flawlessly with Tailscale. Now I can ssh to my workstation from anywhere. A lot of features are hidden. Like the ssh config file is only mentioned in the docs slightly. I’d suggest the dev should make all the features as visible as possible.
