  • Lousy streaming “service”

    Can’t watch anything without having it freeze every few minutes or crash completely. The app also makes it difficult to cancel. Run far, run fast from AMC+

    There should be a way to rate negative stars. This app is horrible. The commercials are out of hand, like every 5 minutes during a show and the app very rarely saves progress accurately. If you watch thirty minutes of a show, you see 5-7 ads. Then when you come back, progress returns somewhere way before you last ended and you have to FF to where you left off, but get stuck watching all the same same ads all over again to be allowed to FF to where you last left off. Extremely unstable. Absolutely the worst thing out there. AMC should be embarrassed about how bad this is. My guess is their goal is to force the rewatching of ads so their “viewership” is tracked higher than it actually is, so they can charge more for the ad space.

    Even the channel add on through Apple TV has been terrible lately, tons of stuff missing that says it’s available on the AMC+ app. I would love to continue supporting Shutter, IFC etc but you guys are truly making that impossible. Terrible app, no support, messed up channel add on, cancellation.

  • Not a User Friendly App

    While the shows are great, the app itself is very tedious to navigate. You can’t do much from within the app and it will say “use the App Store” but from there you can’t do much either. I could not find a way to put subtitles on, a way to switch episodes from within the player (I had to back out to the main screen and search for the show each time). I think with some updates it could be worth keeping but I’ll be cancelling my subscription.

    The app allows you to download shows to watch offline. However, will not load without a connection. The UI is basic and well behind other companies apps. The collection of shows don’t justify a monthly subscription. AMC is better off licensing their shows to other streaming platforms like Netflix or Hulu.

    Keeps telling me I’m streaming on too many devices at once (literally impossible); can’t Airplay, gives incomprehensible error codes. Unusable

    The app doesn’t have a choice of closed captions when I use my Apple TV. I can see it on my phone. It’s very frustrating not to be able to use close captioning on the television. Apparently this has been a problem for a long time and they still haven’t fixed it

    App constantly crashes then makes me rewatch the same ads over and over just for it to crash 5 minutes later and repeat the cycle. Def not worth the money
