Around Halloween I decided my life needed an adjustment. I read a couple books (This Naked Mind & Healing Back Pain by Dr. John Sarno) which encouraged me to stop drinking, and downloaded this app to start tracking my nutrition. In less than 3 months I’ve lost over 30 lbs (222 to 190). And it hasn’t really been difficult. I tell anyone who will listen about MacroFactors!

MarcoFactor is the best macro tracker ever created. I was able to recomp (loose fat and build muscle) using this app. I recommend this app 100% even if you’re goal is just to lose weight. It helps you understand your body, and how to lose weight without sacrificing a whole lot of your favorite foods/snacks.

I like the overall performance. But it glitchy i often find that when i open the app there are issues with it loading the food logging pages.

I am always hesitant to pay for apps, especially when you can find something similar for free, but this app is one that I will to subscribe to for as long as it exists. I’ve been tracking my food for as long as I can remember, and I’d get “bored” and look for new apps to spice up the routine and this was one that I happened across 5 years ago. I like that it’s all about the data. I give it my weight and my food intake, it tells me my expenditure. It tracks nutrients. It has pleasing graphics… and the tracking itself is quick and intuitive. I’m not going to lie, the price has made me second guess my choices a couple times, and I’d end my subscription and go back to the free apps I’d used in the past…. But I couldn’t do it. MacroFactor has ruined all other tracking apps for me. From something so simple as the search bar being on the bottom of the screen, to being able to easily add foods with one tap. It’s so so damn easy, I keep coming back. And at this point I’ve accepted I’m hear to stay lol so I will pay the annual payment and keep trucking along because I really do just love this app. It’s become a part of my every day.

The game changing thing with this app is that it is compliance neutral meaning the app doesn’t care if you go over or under your macros! It just needs to know what you are and what’s your weight and then it gets scary accurate with predicting calorie expenditure; allowing you to very confident in how many calories you need to increase or decrease to be on a deficit or a surplus which is what it all comes down to! I feel like the app should really be called “ExpenditureFactor” haha because tracking your macros (although very easy and elegantly designed in this app) is really just a side benefit of having a very accurate and precise predicted expenditure. Get the app! You won’t regret it.

Have used every nutrition tracker on the market. MF doesn’t have a free version but it is easily the best of the bunch. It’s smart, adaptive, and responsive in all the right ways. If you’re serious about changing your body, then you don’t need to keep looking. Macrofactor is worth the price.

I started at 129lbs at the beginning of 2025, and gained a lean 35-40lbs by the end of the year! Working out was never the issue in the past, it was always the diet. MacroFactor helped me stay on track for my goals, and I don’t know if I could’ve done it without it. 10/10, 100% recommend
  • Great tracker

I have tried many apps and this one is definitely one of the easiest. I would give 5 stars if there was a way to add strength training workouts within the app instead of just steps. Also would like to be able to connect my Garmin. Apple health doesn’t accurately add the steps each day and I don’t have a Fitbit.
  • Not accurate

If you’re going to be a good tracking app the first thing you need to be is accurate. I tried this for three days and consistency I would scan QR codes on products and it would get it wrong. Cool you have an AI feature but you skipped on making the basics right. There are other apps that are cheaper and more accurate so as much as I like the design I’ll pass on this.

As a person with a history of eating disorders and a volatile relationship with food, this app has been so unexpectedly healing. It's such a powerful tool to understand what your body needs and what XYZ feels like in the body. It works so well for me because it takes the responsibility of burden off, gently educates you through usage over time. Plus, because it's an app (not a person) there's no feelings of judgment of "being perceived", literally just numbers and facts. Minus 1.5 stars due to... - The AI predictions not always being correct, and when incorrect they're off by a lot - The AI’s training data focuses on ‘common foods,’ but the selection feels narrow & inconsistent. It primarily covers mainstream American cuisine with a few popular items like Korean BBQ, yet misses many widely available products (such as Costco items). The database would benefit from broader representation of foods that are common to the millions of Americans across different cultural backgrounds like me - The AI struggles with muscle vs fat. The app kept reducing and reducing my calories week over week, until I was physically and mentally struggling. This happened despite my marking that I do both cardio and weightlifting (on Jeff Nippard's min-max program, no less!). At a certain point, you do need the mental fortitude to be able to reason with and say "no" to the app's suggestions. It had me at 1.8k calories until I manually changed it to 2.6k, at which point my gym weights skyrocketed while fat immediately went down (woosh)
