  • This program worked for us

My son started this at 3 years and 3 months old. Within a couple months he was reading simple things and around lesson 50 we slowed down a lot because he was happily reading other materials all the time. Now he’s a total bookworm, but so is everyone in the family so ymmv. We eventually returned to finish all the lessons just for the sake of it. But I’m happy this app gave the foundation and steps to get started. I like their simple animations, instead of what you find in many other apps where it’s too stimulating like a video game.

Love this app but the fact that it is super slow is frustrating. My child is losing interest while the app tries to download a new “sound”. Speed up the app and it would be awesome.

I downloaded this app expecting to be disappointed, as most kids app are low quality. But reading.com has been amazing. My daughter is excited to do the lessons every day, she even asks to do more than one, and I feel like it’s worth every penny. She’s grown as a reader more in the past two weeks than she had over the last few months at her pre-K.

We love this app!! We started it when my child was 3.5, now she’s almost 4 and reading A LOT of words fluently without having to sound them out 🥰💕
  • Great for my toddler

My daughter is 1 (almost 2) and I feel a little crazy trying to teach her to read, but she already knows how to read every letter of the alphabet- so it just seems like the right place. But I was having a hard time figuring out a resource that works with the attention span of a toddler. This seems to be great for that. We have done two lessons so far and my daughter REALLY likes the alphabet song. She makes us play it 3-4 times. She already knows the letters M and A, so pairing that with their sounds now is the new piece and she’s really enjoying it. Just the right length. Little pieces of information. I also like that it tells me what to say, so it’s very interactive for the two of us. There are things she does and things I do. It’s a nice bonding activity.

I’ve used a few reading programs to see what works best for my 4 almost 5 year old… we are homeschooling so I have the flexibility to do that. Kiddo loves the games/ app. Has learned a ton. Reached a point with blending where we needed to pause and focus on that blending skill more before continuing with more lessons/ increasing difficulty… I think this is more due to my sons early age vs. the apps fault. I stopped the membership for a bit and got asked if I would zoom with someone from their team to discuss why. I was very impressed with how much they take feedback to improve the experience/ games/ lessons. Overall a great great app. We will definitely resume when we reach the fluency I desire with blending 2-3 letter words. Good Job!
  • Not self directed

Many reading apps are self directed, this one is not. It is too basic. There are some nice elements of the app but it doesn’t beat others.
  • Completed the App!

This is a fantastic phonics and early reading tool. It has translated into excellent reading skills outside of the app. My seven year old just finished level 99, and I only wish it kept going!
