  • Great app! Elite not worth it, though.

Love the app, overall just great. Could use a few updates, but it’s definitely nice to use and functional. Elite plan DEFINITELY is not worth it. Going from $29.99 to $99.99 per year just to see some info about private land? I see how that feature could be useful, but the price increase is way too lofty. Although there are a few more upgrades that one gets when purchasing elite, they aren’t easily noticeable, and still not worth it. Otherwise I personally love this app, and find it very useful.

Easy app to use and shows so much of what’s around in the area! Started using it for hiking but also love that it has climbing and biking.

Just learning but looks like it will work for me
  • Error loading details

About half my saved trails have “Error Loading”, so I can’t see elevation data, trail reports, etc. Deleted and reinstalled the app, but same results. Also, elevation data isn’t available in Offline mode. Would really like to see this added, since it’s most mission critical when I’m offline (actually hiking).

I like OnX. I use OnX Hunt and TroutRoutes app as well. I want to use Backcountry but I mountain bike primarily and the trails are not as up-to-date as they are on TrailForks. I wish they were so I could just use this app.
  • Almost So Good

Generally a great improvement over my other nav apps. But the “go to waypoint” function only shows up for personal waypoints not other landmarks. And I had the app crash four times today during a short hike. Twice while editing waypoints, and twice for unknown reasons.
  • Finally a way to find trails

My wife and I were recently in the Idaho panhandle looking for hiking trails. It was a long frustrating experience until we discovered the onx trails app. We are longtime users of the onx hunting maps do it was a easy transition to the hiking map.
  • Map box is annoying

I love this app but when I’m trying to download maps and you’re limiting it to 3GB but also not showing me what that area looks like when I’m trying to decide what grids to download is incredible obnoxious. Lock the size based on the zoom if that’s the case and let me figure out what grids I need to stack instead of constantly zooming around finding a sweet spot.
  • Not worth the price

I went to try the trial, i Canceled my subscription and they still charged me the $106.99 for a year. You don’t not even get access to anything other then the hiking and biking for the one I did. Thought I was paying for all maps, guess again. Not worth the $. That and they still charge you after canceling the trial. If On could rate .5 of a star I would for functioning map. Shop else where folks.

I subscribe to the Elite version of the app so that I can see landowner details and have offline maps. Im often on unmaintained trails and am amazed by how closely the app matches the reality. Thanks onX!
