  • Do not buy anything from this app and learn from my mistake!

I paid $150 for a lot of books in a sale 2 years ago thinking it will be great to have the digital access and play someday. Well that day has come, and I find all the content changes removed everything before I even used it...but not only that, they have changed all the old books and now removed the access from even showing up in character building. What did I even pay for? Honestly even I have no idea because somehow all the same names of books are there, but none of the content is. How is that legal? $150 down the drain...learn from my mistake and never buy anything through this predatory app. The character creator has ZERO from the books I bought but is offering them all for sale again for another round of buying (again, what am I even "buying"?!). Clearly nothing is stopping them from doing this again and again and again. But I learned my lesson the first time, and I hope others can learn (but who reads reviews before this happens? It literally is made to trick people after they have already made the purchase).

As a frequent DM and player I like the accessibility. Being able to make a character on a whim or search for exactly want you want is fantastic, but there is 2 brutal flaws in my opinion. 1: you cannot transfer physical payments into Beyond, the starter kit gives you the campaign included inside of it for free, alongside an expansion of the story and 50% off the PHB online, but this to my knowledge is the only physical D&D item that comes with Beyond compatibility. I will always prefer paper and I know the reason they won’t do this is Hasbro knows very dedicated fans will buy the books twice, which I hate. 2: It’s very hard to read the books on a phone. The stat blocks, spells, character sheets, etc are all easy to understand, but the books are brutally obvious that they were just copy/pasted into a pdf and outside of the books made specifically for Beyond you’re lucky to get through a chapter without eye strain. Outside of these flaws the app is great, but corporate greed is holding this back from becoming one of the best platforms for D&D and I’m tired of Hasbro stomping on my heart.
  • Current update is unusable

The text is black on black and forces me to slide to read more text horizontally (not that I can read it well the way it is anyway. It wasn’t like this before. What on earth happened with this horrible update? Do you want people to lose accessibility and leave your app?

I honestly think more focus needs to be on the app. I get tired of having to go on the website to add certain things to my character. Example wildshape forms on the extras tab. You can only add them if you do it from the website.

The app and website on my mobile apple devices claim that the browser does not support certain features when I try ti log in using my Twitch account, thus leaving me unable to log in on the app. When it worked though, it worked amazingly.
